Inserting Title Screen

I've done a serach for this topic and found nothing before anyone attacks me ;) . Can anyone point me in the right direction? A nice tutorial would be great. Evo-Webs forums are down at the moment so I can't check there. I'm gonna insert the new Title screen with WEPES Graphic Studio but a guide to actually making the Title screen in Photoshop is what I'm really looking for. Anyone know off hand the values that the image should have? I know it should be 8-bit but not much more than that. I was told to talk to Biker Jim but I can't get in touch with him because of aforementioned problem (Evo-Web). Thanks in advance! :D

All I do is start a new file , 512 by 512 in photoshop or whatever.
Then insert ur pictures u want as ur title screeb etc.
When ur happy save as bmp, Then insert it over the original title screen in dat afs

Anyway, image should be 512x512, 256 colors, when you import it you have to pay attention to the transpareny otherwise the title screen will be messed up, the whole screen must have inverted transparency (0), but there are a few bits which should have transparency to max, eg the "press any button" area
