Or are Fulham crap?
Ok, after playing a world cup on 3 stars (the whole international challenge thing) and beating italy 9-2 in the semi's & Argentina 11-0 in the final, I decide 3*is too easy. Lets start a master league on 5*. I'll choose Fulham as they are average and it could be fun to build the squad up with some quality signings. How hard!!! My record up to the point of launching my joypad across the room in frustration was Played 10, won 3, drew 3, lost 4. I had played Portsmouth 3 times and lost 4-0 on each occasion. Lua Lua tore me to shreds in every game (I do like the fact that if a player is fast and a defender is slow, he ain't gonna get caught). Now during the transfer window I signed no fewer than 10 new players (and shipped out half my team) but my main no' 1 signing of the window was Andres D'Allessandro (sp?). Now this guy was awesome against me during the Portsmouth drubbings. He ran the show. Unfortunately, Andres D'Allessandro no longer runs shows. He's now a bimbling idiot. I played Portsmouth again and Sean Davis (Sean sodding Davis) ran the show. Half way through being drubbed by Portsmouth again (3-0 half time) it actually occurred to me, are Fulham crap... or is it me????
So I ended the master league and played an exhibition match. Newcastle vs (you guessed it) Portsmouth 5*. I have quality players this time. We'll see how good you Pompey really are!!! I lost 3-0 (Lua Lua hatrick). Anyway, I've now decided that Fulham aren't crap... I am.
A few things I've noticed about WE10 (purely my opinion of course, please don't flame me)....
1) Keepers are crap. End of.
2) Shooting is worst its been for long time. I either unleash a thunderbolt miles wide/over or its a pathetic daisy cutter that sometimes keeper fumbles (see point 1)
3) The 'quick free kick' is flawed. The very fact that you are pressing a button to tell the computer that you are going to fool it by taking a free-kick quickly is not right surely. They always seem ready for your kick to me (they don't even pretend to look surprised!!)
4) Dont try taking a man on on anything greater than 3* he will just block your run and take it off you (however, on 3* feel free to grab ball on half way line and tear arse your way straight through and score).
5) Dont try to win headers on above 3*. I won 6 with Fulham in 3 games (no, really:shocking
6) If you do manage to get past your man (see point 4), expect to be tripped up/hacked down and nothing given.
7) Breathing on an opponent on 5* is a foul (generally punishable by yellow card).
I could go on but I'm tired now and its bed time. Don't get me wrong, I will get into the game and I will get better (as things stand I have the ability of a staple gun). I will learn to love it but I guess tonight I just got frustrated (plus I got the old 'Its only a game' line from the other half when I missed a sitter in injury time... that helps no end:angry: !!!). I've been playing since it dropped through door friday and I loved it up until today.
I'd love to know if anyone else is experiencing similar annoyances.
