Is patching a DVDrip possible?

Hi;

I hope someone can help with this as I have posted on two other forums, read several patching guides (including the begginers guide found here) and wasted 6 CDs to try and patch my PES 3 and still haven't managed to get it to work.

I have PES 3 on a CD. It works perfectly but is un-patched, player and team names all weird, etc.

I have downloaded JB's patch 5.1.04 from lomungtung.no-ip.com and made several attempts to patch the game using this, the last one is as follows:

I created an Image of the CD using CDRWin, applied the patch with ppf-o-matic, checked for errors using CDMage (no errors found), burned the patched image.
The game does not start.

So, I have two questions:

1) Is it possible to patch from a DVDrip? (My original DVD is damaged)

2) Is it possible that, although the logo PES 3 appears all over the game, I really have a WE7 and so the patches do not work because they are for PES 3? (When I check the credits, the first line reads Winning Eleven 7... How can one be sure of the version?)

Thanks for any help.

Flipping heck. That is such a screwed up situation dude! Sounds a bit dodgy too.
As you have seen for yourself, your PES3 CD is not patchable.

Try to make a CD-rip of your original (or if it's too damaged, borrow a friend's one) and follow jonboyo's guide to rip it. Then it is guaranteed to work and you won't be wasting any more CDs.

Which screen does it say that your game is WE7? Can you show us a pic of that screen? Either way, best to start with an original.

If you're sure that the DVDrip you have is working and it's a rip of the original game all you have to do is create an image of this dvd using either alcohol120% or Nero or anything you want and then apply "fischcake's dvd patch for pes3" with ppfomatic on this image and just burn the image on a new dvd. You'll find fishcake's patch at lomungtung's site.
