Ive heard mixed opinions amongst friends and in magazines, is it worth swapping pro evo 4 for pro evo 5, how much better is it, if its even better at all, whats different in the master league?

All opinions are wanted:D

Haha, this has been discussed several hundred times...PES 5 is useless for multiplayer because half the time someone is fouled, very stop-start, so I prefer PES 4 in that respect. Although PES 5 is better single player, even though the AI has advantages.

theres no comparison as they are now totally different and individual games!
if you like to score loads of goals and beat about six players with a mad run then stick with 4, if you want a challenge and play good passing football then go for 5

disagree that multiplayer is bad on 5.. I actually prefer it a damn lot more to 4s multiplayer games where you'd find the score being 11-10

I'll put in another voice for PES5, especially the multiplayer. Search back because this really has all been said before.

PES5 multiplayer makes longballs, defense, formations all actually matter and allows for varying styles of play (rather than cynical do-the-thing and score gameplay of PES4).

g33k I cannot believe you STILL haven't swallowed your pride and learned to play the game properly :p Fouls become almost a non-issue for most people after a week or two of playing. Though I would agree that it is still (even moreso than PES4) too easy to foul someone intentionally for very little repurcussion...

Heh, well, I wouldn't blame my playing style seeing as it's possible to foul without even pressing X in PES 5, it's ridiculous. Most of the fouls are pretty stupid, just getting a knock is a free kick, and you end up screaming 'play on'! Just totally disrupts the playing. It's probably my friends actually, seeing as I rarely foul in single player, so I know I can play properly. The exciting game ratio of PES 4 and 5 is probably 10:1.

No it's not worth swapping 4 for 5 in my opinion.

Don't listen to any of these "Johnny come lately" football fans like "hitmanuk2k" that believe 5 is better because it provides a greater challenge.

I suppose it depends on what philosophy you believe in.

If in the one hand you love the beatuful free-flowing football of the 1970 Brazil world cup winning side , stick with PES4.

If on the other hand you prefer the defensive, dull boring, slow build-up play of say Chelsea , stick with 5.

PES4 is a lot more arcade like. PES5 is as flowing as you want to be and allows for styles of play other than the cynical 'do-the-move-and-score-the-goal' over and over. PES5 is more organic and emphasizes passing and formations more. Longballs are now useful. Defenders are back on par with offensemen. It is now possible to block balls; shots, passes, etc, so you have a choice (blocking lanes) other than just rushing the man with the ball. PES4, to me, is like a single beam on the spectrum that is PES5.

PES 5 is not flowing at all...it's a joke tbh. I mean, it can't be my fault if I commit fouls when I'm not even pressing tackle?
