Keep newbies from opening useless threads

To do this it would be good if they get an automatic PM when they register with links to threads with all the badges and stuff like that, I mean links to the most usefull threads..
Is this a good idea?

All noobs should be sent a PM telling them how to use the fucking SEARCH button. I mean it doesn't take a genius.....does it?

Nope. It's not that they don't know how to, its just that they don't care and are fucking lazy and want answer straight away, although it would be quicker to take out 2 minutes to look for them then wait for replies.

They may be some very good newbies who have good ideas for threads, its not so much Newbies more the fact that there stupid idiots who have nothing better to do then piss us off, I think it would be better if Admins could take the rights off some people who constantly open rubbish thread after rubbish thread.

Its usually a phase, check yourself. Some cases are hopeless, but most of the great members here were spammers too when they started.

It could be a good idea, but would they use it? The introductions forum already had a 'Read Before Posting' thread which I expect the people who cause a problem don't.

just give the bad newbies a month ban or something and explain why they are banned and let them think about what they did

or

say they need to have a certain number of posts before they can open a thread, the only problem is they will probally spam up the forum to reach that milestone
