hi there

does anyone know if it is illegal to sell homemade kit designs online?

i have done some amazing looking spurs adidas and pony designs, and an arsenal lightning strip with AWESOME detail, and plan to do many more, i've even done fantasy kits with these designs and different sponsor logos and colours.

these all took hours on end to get all the details adn designs drawn up, and feel that i should sell my work for something like 20p a kit

i have these for my own pleasure and havent given these out at all, but if anyone could tell me the law if its legal or illegal to sell such a thing, please let me know

I doubt anyone would be willing to buy these, im sure theyre top quality, but there is a great selection of option files around. And if youre charging, people will opt for a free option file.

Agreed, there are a lot of option files (such as Von Option) and kit packs (such as mosseybaby's) which are free and are very good. Therefore, everyone will want to download these files instead no matter how good your files are.

There are also many forums/websites that ban posting of all English League material as it is a breach of copyright. The use of images like kit manufacturers, sponsors and club logos in png files can also be deemed as a breach of copyright laws.

So apart from the fact there is so much free stuff out there (including my own creations, that some idiot is trying to claim as his own :realmad: ) trying to charge for material like kit pngs could lead to possible legal action as you could be seen to be trying to profit from images where you don't own the copyright....
