Hello all,

I was just wundering how much does FIFA and PES pay for Liences of the leagues and teams? Does anyone know? I'm interested to know how much it would cost to say buy anohter league for the next game like the German League or the Champonship?

i'm not sure on the figures but i know EA has it locked down for england. think they sewed it up when they became an official premier league sponser...

also, EA managed to pass a court injunction stopping konami from putting in any transfer updates that were made after the season started which is why they had to release a game with loads of transfers missing...

wankers... i hate F*FA. lets all just get along :)

EA has a lot of advantage over KONAMI in terms of licenses. And KONAMI is not rich enough to overpay it.

EA has much more power over the whole legal issues. there games are more succesful then KONAMIS games so it makes sense for the liscences owners to invest in them.

Actually, the contract goes up for license after a contract term expires. I believe EA's contract for Prem League license are up in 2010. If the English FA have any sense, they should see PES has a bigger cult following that FIFA so will hopefully award the next contract to Konami, that's assuming Konami put in a bid to rival EA.

It is different in other leagues I believe, as other leagues allow teams to individually negotiate with companies like Konami and EA, hence why half Spanish league is 'official' and half not in PES2009.

yeah true, but unfortunatley EA have the money and that is all our FA cares about nowadays so don't expect any konami logo's to be on the back of match day programmes instead of EA next season.

also, we all know evo is better, but if you say to someone who knows nothing about computer games "oh i'm playing F*FA" they'll know your playing a footy game. tell someone "oh i'm playing pro evo" you'll be greeted with "what's that?" it's a crying shame but we all know :)

That is kind of true, and Fifa's EPL license ends in 2010 as you said (and hopefully it will end up in konami's lap), but as you brought up individual licensing it would seem some of the EPL teams can license themselves out as we saw with Liverpool and Manchester United in PES 2009.

EA's Premiership license runs out in 2010. So thats either next season or the season after that.

konami should just license leagues that EA has not made exclusive yet, like some of the south american leagues and license more teams individually
