Again maybe it will happen much less. Keepres are not gods, mistakes can happen like in real life.

as a spurs fan, i was used to keeper error last time out. it just seemed realistic, after watching robinson in real life. what pissed me off was passing from the centre back to the full back only for the ball to go straight out for a throw in no where near accurate. and my opponent usually scores from the following cross. but i must say i scored a few from the cpu keeper messing up too, i wouldn't complain then. i was dissapointed with things i heard about the new game but now i just cant wait for it.

To be fair he was playin on amateur so the keepers aint that great!
but i mainly hope that you crnt lob the keeper in ur own half with o + r2

NEXT time use caps-lock cause some people realy are dumb. All this moaning when you can clearly see he played on amateur.

I've always questioned the PES keepers, and whatever Konami tell me, I'll likely continue to do so in 2009 and beyond. I've seen at least 2 videos where the keepers have turned out to be shit so far, whether on the amateur difficulty or not, it still shouldn't happen as frequent as it has. I mean, if it's a rare occurence, why are GK mistakes appearing so often in the very few gameplay vids we have so far?

Again, I'm not doubting that it could all be down to the amateur difficulty level, but it just irks me when the keepers are bigged up to be much better and seemingly proven not so in videos.

that was one of my biggest arguments for last years game..

after seeing this im wondering if i can stomach parting with my hard earned cash

Then try before you buy.....

Lots of different ways of doing that ;->

I agree, from what I seen it looks like the same old PES formulae and by the sounds of it, they have spent time finding ways to make it more 'fun' than ever before. To me, this translates as more arcade lameness than ever before.

I was also alarmed to hear that Seabass himself was a very poor PES player. Perhaps if he could play the game to a higher level he would fully realise the aspects of the later installments of the series that are a total turn off for hardcore gamers.

Yeh i've seen a video where Mascherano scores for Argentina and the ball goes right under the diving keeper and in. Shocking goalkeeping IMO:eek:hmy:

Have you seen Chech in the euro? He was supposed to be a very good keepr and yet he made a very big mistake. That's realism.

The point isn't that mistakes can't be made by the best of goalkeepers, of course they can. It's the frequency of them happening in the game that worries me. I've seen them in a few videos now, the one the above guy mentioned included.

Someone said that the testers were "playing on Amateur difficulty". Well, my answer to that would be even though they're on Amateur, the keepers still shouldn't fumble the ball or dive over it a lot, something that was said to be phased out of the game.

Again, I do appreciate that the game is "70% complete," so I'll reserve proper judgement on the keepers until I play the game for myself in October. I just wouldn't get your hopes up on them being brilliant just because Konami have said so.

look, these pes fanboys are making excuses for the deficiencies in the game already. Face it, iit's a mistake in the game. The keeper should never dive over the ball. If it was an intended keeper mistake, it should look like it, but it looks like an in game ai error.

And maschereno scoring with his left foot ffrom 30 yards just like that! by a guy who admits he's rubbish at the game!

Can't you go home or something?

It seems you're here to have digs at PES, tell us how great Fifa is, and nothing else. Probably better on a Fifa forum.

Yes, you responded to a message of mine questioning the Goalkeepers, but you talk as if Fifa's are amazing. Granted, you probably wouldn't beat them as easy as that from far out, but still, I prefer PES' keepers simply because all goals inside the penalty area look the same on Fifa. It seems they have one way of diving when you're less than 18 yards out.

I would say that the one thing pes has over fifa is the long range shooting. Its very difficult on fifa 08 to blast the ball in gerrardesque from 30 yards but they have said that fifa 09 have sorted this out.

I can say all goals in the penalty area in pro look the same, you just square it at the byline for a tap in, or pounce on a rebound from a suspect keeper.

^No. In pro every goal feels different at least in pes 5 and 6. You can never score the same goal twice. That was a fifa diasdvantage and in Fifa 08 it was better but still not enough. Admit it. Even the biggest noob in games can score a goal like that. Luck is the answer. Lucky moments are realism too. I don't need to mention hpow many lucky moments there is in real football. Watch some football.

mate ive played pro evo 08 and Ive scored plenty of goals just by squaring the ball for a tap in. Its routine when you know how, which is one of the biggest flaws in the game as well as keepers spilling for an easy tap in.

but like i said on another thread, its a matter of opinion.

I'm sure i heard something about the keepers being able to be undone by the bounce (eg. Carson v Croatia) on pes2009. Is this true?

I said Pes 5 and 6 not pes 08. Pes 08 wasn't good as it was suppose to. I think even pes 4 was like 5 and 6.

i think ive seen two, one where i think tevez scores ON AMATEUR under the goalkeeper who should get it, and the second a highish shot where the keeper just flaps straight forward and its at the side of him, but you say we have only a few gameplay vids, ive watched at least 7or8 different ones, if it only happens 2/10 games thats fine with me.

been a leeds fan ive seen Robinson mess up on plenty of occasions, hes been an England number 1, lets look at other England international goalkeepers
calamity James, plenty of errors
Foster, lobbed by a bouncing ball from a freekick at the opponents area
Seaman, lobbed from a very deep freekick on two occasions

its hard enough been a goalkeeper, im sure 95% of the people on here dont have the reflexes it takes to be a good one, and alot of people clearly dont know the reflexes and luck it can take. there were awful errors in pes2008, all they have to do is improve the keepers catching ability, problem solved
