OK, so honestly has anyone got this mastered yet?

I have played roughly 15-20 matches of Demo2 and am getting used to the passing with all the assists off. But i must be honest, my progress with the right stick manual running is rather slow, don't get me wrong, I am progressing, but not fast enough to get it locked by MLO12 release!!!

I often find myself experiencing a 'brain-freeze' where i am concentrating on the right stick player movement, and forget about the player I am controling with the ball. resulting in either an easy tackle for my opponent, or more embarrasingly running the ball straight out of play whilst under no pressure!!!

Please post any tip/advice here and lets see if we can get the community using this rather terrifying feature....

as simple as the manual off ball player control sounds its acually very complex.... I think its humanly impossible to perform or at least to perforn in certain situations. I find the best time to try it is when you have the ball on a conter attack or with open space and need the off ball player to move a certain way to open up more space for you. In traffic with the defender pressuring your player you can't control 2 players on opposite sides of the screen and expect to come out successful with it., like I said... not humanly possible LOL!

It certainly is tricky, I find that I'm closed down by the AI before I've even had a chance to co-ordinate an off the ball run.

Against human players who will stand off I think it'll work nicely but I suspect musicians and people with generally great hand co-ordination will be very effective with it. Alas though, not I!

According to every woman I have met in my life men can only do one thing at a time. Konami should have thought about that before adding this feature to the game Haha. Anyways how many directions are we capable of choosing with the right stick? or does the player only move forward?

Its all tied in with the level of AI assistance. It needs to be set to manual to be able to make variable running off the ball. I'm happy with assisted, yes it means a player runs in a straight line but it means he takes a player with him in terms of marking and opens up space for me.

As far as I can tell, clicking in the right stick whilst pointing it at one of your players will activate him, At this point the player will run in the direction you hold the right stick, if you let go and center the right stick that player will continue his run on the line you last ran him for a few seconds.

What I am finding most success with, is not trying to control the player for too long, select him, set him on his course (in a split second) then get your brain back on the ball possesser.

I am also noticing combinations of L stick and R stick movement that work in harmony, such as running a CF wide as the AMF carrys the ball into the space the CF just created, it really is magic when it works. This can become a game of 'cat and mouse' as I fake the CF back into the middle- as the AMF goes wide..
