Ok I have had a couple of goes on ML and I find it very difficult on 4 star.

You have to sell your better players to raise cash and the players you have are pish. I have tried numerous formations and find it very frustrating to the point where I want to break things, i have a few good results but cannot find any consistency and it seems that whilst it takes me around 8 chances to score a goal the cpu seems to always score from a lucky scramble or horrendous piece of miscontrol and general ineptitude from my defence.

What I am asking is the following:-

1- what formation do you play
2- do you sell players at the start to raise cash and the rely on one or two star forwards you manage to buy
3- do you attack all the time or play on the break and try to nick a goal
4-and finally and perhaps more importantly why has nord's name been changed that guy is a cult figure - dont mess, you hear???

I only play in 5* lower seems too easy.
1. I play 4-3-3b
2. Of course I sell any player that a com team asks me and I rely on growth players.
3. I try to attack as much as possible (the only way to score is to attack
4. he is the first player (along with zamelohf) that I release. He CAN'T DO ANYTHING m8

Yes Njord is a legend in the sense that Ade Akinbiyi is also a cult figure. I'd rather put Valery up front than him. The beauty of the PES dynasty is that you have to get use to the game, and bit by bit, you improve on each part of your game. If you've already conquered ML in PES2 than you should start in 5*. In my experience it is better than wasting time later starting over and over from scratch. At 5*, I go for more or less the same formation they give i.e. 3 CBs and 2 DMFs, and you have to very good at both defending and attacking, coz a lapse in contentration and you've lost. Then as you get better and get better players then revert to a formation that suits your style of play. I find it more important to have a better OMF and CF then 2 decent CFs. Doni and Babangida were my saviours in PES2.

Castello is a real quality striker, until i've bought a full team, including subs and reserves, i keep him, and usually play him! he scores some goals!

I use a 3-2-3-2 formation, on 5 *s

I sacrafice the first season and buy the best keeper I can get plus 5 or 6 good youth players like ibsen, stanley etc, but keep in mind that you need different players for different jobs, I get Ibsen to use as a foil for a good partnering striker, he is already tall so increasing his jump and heading skills makes him a cert for crosses. Same with stanley, plus he is left footed so gives good balance at the back.

After grinding out a few results your forward players get around 40 points and defenders 25 on average per week, so it doesn't take long to build up a core of good players.

Second season you start with a decent team and then that is where the practise comes in to play.

PS When I train players I build speed up first but no more than 89 on any of the atributes (training seems available longer but this maybe coincidence) then spread the points across the rest as appropriate not negleting technique and teamwork.
