Master league team problem, help?

Hey im wondering if anyone can help me, well i hope so cos this problem is doing my head in.
Every time i play a friendly against my mates i use my master league team, but wat is doin my head in is that all the player stats are not improved like in the master league, so all my young players are really crap. Is there a way u can play friendly matches with ur master league team, with all the improved stats. Help would be much appreciated?
