Memory card adapter to transfer option file

Hey

So I can't seem to get a PES 6 option file on my memory card whatever i do. The Max Drive disc won't work anymore on my PS2 and, after purchasing Swap magic, i can't seem to get the method of transferring an option file without Max Drive to work either (http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=31690)

So i thought, could I use a Memory Adapter (http://www.consolesandgadgets.co.uk/catalog/memory-adapter-playstation-p-1002.html) and transfer an option file to my memory card that way?

Any advice/help would be appreciated!
