memory card files corrupted

i have used an option file from the site and i decided to change it for a new one on my pes 6 game, my mc card did not work out the second one and i thereafter get no chance to make any saves of championships or cup games or editing in the mc. in memory status appears no option file saved. i have deleted all the contents of my mc but checked remaining space threw my max drive device and although it shows no data written on the capacity is 5.5mb instead of 8mb. Shall i get a new mc? when i try to overwrite data of the option file the game says that there is a problem with corrupted data.
Please help.

If you have a max drive there is a facilty to format your memory card. I think after you bring up the memory card as your device, press square (PS2) - I think thats right but I may be wrong. You can definitely format your card though

thanx for your tip man! i will try it. if i do not achieve formatting the mc i will get a new one.
