ML Default team formation and strategies

Hi everyone! Does anyone have any good formations and strategies that worked for you at the beginning of ML with the default team? I currently play on World Class.

My current formation is:

------------------Schartz-----------------

------------------Minanda-----------------
----Shimizu-------------------Ximeles------

----------Meriem--------------------------
------------------------Dodo--------------

Ruskin----Palmieri------Baumann--El Maubarki

I'm doing so-so on defense, but what I think is really holding me back is my lack of goals, which is leading me to lots of draws and one nil losses. Schartz has good shooting stats but he turns slower than a battleship, so I find it hard to get good shots off. I want to keep playing him though because I'd like to keep developing him.

Does anyone have any formations or strategies that worked well for you during that tough first season with the default team? All tips are fully appreciated!

I have found PES 2011 to be the most challenging ML in a number of years. I started with default players on top player in D2 and goals were scarce first year. Here are a few of my thoughts to bag some though:

* I like 4-1-2-2 or 4-3-3. Option 1 allows you some offense and you can push up your SB's for additional help, but then have a DMF to lend support. Option 2 when you want to be more aggressive. Yes it's risky, but the default talent can be weak and you just need to generate some offense.

* Schwarz is not speedy. But he is big and great at headers. Also a pretty good shot. So I try to use him as a target guy for crosses and corners and let him pick up rebounds etc.

* I think using Shimizu as a midfielder is a bit of a waste. He grows well and is speedy. He is one of your best offensive players on the pitch. So I use him as AMF or swap out a CF and put him in as SS. A good way to pop some goals is to break down the wing, stop, and then hit the trailing Shimizu. He can score from inside or just outside the box with some decent shots.

* The other tools like Ordaz, Gutierrez, Hamsun, Burchet etc are fillers and I use them depending on their form. They pick up a few scrap goals, but again, are secondary to Scwarz and Shimizu as my target men.

Hope this helps. I'm with you as I too found it a real challenge to find the right formation to get some goals.
