Hello just wondered whether anyone knows whetther there will be a network fee for pro evo 5 on ps2. In the manual it states a fee is required but this says winning eleven 8 online. Perhaps this is the first maual version as surely it would say pro evo 5 online.

are u sure the fee there talkin about isnt the fee you would be expected to pay to your internet provider to get broadband. if not then i hope its a misprint coz theres nothing worse than a game which charges you to use its features

No if you read down on the image attached more it says there is also an addittional fee from your broadband service provider. I have Killzone, timesplitters and many more online games and have never had to pay a fee.

if you do have to pay fee's for it i'll tell them to sod off and just invite my mates round instead. its just too much, i already have to pay for the broadband connection, the copy of the game and a console, tv etc to run it on and then companies ask you to pay a fee to use features on the game, joke if you ask me. well out of order

Well actually they'll also lose out if they don't charge as they have to provide the servers we'll all be playing on (which is costly to say the least)...so the more people buy the game, the less profit lost and vice versa

not lookin gud then eh. i dont understand why they should charge because not many ppl are going to pay it anyway. if they want to beat fifa in the sales market they are going to have too offer more than just gameplay to win the gamers over and a free online mode is just that

exactly. i'm not going to pay to play it online. especially as you can almost gaurantee the service wont be as good as xbox live (which i believe you have to pay for, though i hear most games give you 6 months free, might be total shit, but its what an xbox owning mate told me)

In the US, some games give a 2 month trial code. You still need to enter in your credit card info and all that to set it up, but you can cancel so you don't get charged after 2 months.

I have yet to play online with my PS2 (if WE9 ACTUALLY is online when it releases in the US, then I will try), but Xbox Live has nice features. If Konami actually took advantage of them (like clans/leagues, stat tracking, etc.), WE9/PES5 would be a totally new experience. They seem to be content with the bare minimum for now, but then again, this is only the 2nd online WE...

On FIFA06 (opps i used the F word!!) you have to pay £1.99 to play online, but this is paid by soccernet.com, they call it a sponsor. Its a good idea, so i would expect there to be charge but more than likely some smart person in advertising will pay this as it is cheap advertising

Network.. and website

Hi Guys,
This is a real novice question.. I'm going to get the 2MB Broadband connection at the end of the month and go online with PES5.. however.. where would be the best place to go website wise.. to play PES5?.. does PES Insight have an area or am i better doing a search on the net?..

I'll be using my NTL connection.. I've contacted them and they say that if i go onto their website and use they're facilities to play online games then i only get charged the subscription fee per month..but they said some games/websites with certain features will make a small charge i just need to get that Network adapter from Virgin/HMV.
So.. where is the best place to play PES online?.. probably a novice question i know but .. I'm a newbie at this,
Cheers Guys

Everybody plays online games on the same servers. When you go online on your ps2 it connects to the games server and then whoever is online accross the country will be on there. What this has to do with this thread i don't know but i'll let you off

FIFA06 charges £1.50 on ps2. Or you tick a box and soccergaming pay it, but then you get hundreds of junk emails.

I was thinking of getting a network adapter for my PS2 and thinking of connecting it up to my 2 Mb Tiscali ADSL connection.

But, if there's a further charge or subscription fee to play WE9 or PES5 online, then I'll pass, thank you very much.

Is the alleged fee just for the PS2 version? As we didn't have to pay to play PES4 online on the SEXbox.
