New Spidey 2 game; Is it worth buying?!

Now I'm a Spiderman fan and I've enjoyed Spiderman 1+2 on PS1, then Spiderman The Movie on PS2, now I got a DVD with a mag today and the review and footage for Spiderman 2 looks incredible.
You can swing around the city freely and do stuff you like, there's a story too, but it's more free roaming. I am buying it just off seeing that video. The magazine article gave it 83 I think and said it was the best movie tie in ever.
They've got my money.....

Yeah, it sounds good. I got SpiderMan: The Movie on PS2 and although it was good, it was incredibly short, I finished it in around 12 hours. I hope that the new game is better. On Gamespot.com it got 7.2 / 10. However, on the "Reader Reviews" it got an average of 9 / 10. The highest rating being 9.8 and the lowest being 8.0. So I'm probably with you when you say that they've got you're money.

Im a big Spiderman/Marvel fan and have had all the games. Apparently according to a few mags ive read, its better than the movie....Ill see about that as i will be seeing the movie on the 14th.

I played Spiderman 2 a bit today.
Lots of fun. Nice game. Much much better than the first one.
The freedom aspect is great. And you have to complete mini missions in order to advance to the next section.
For the first bit, I played it for 8 minutes and it said I'd completed almost 5% of the game. Hopefully it lasts a lot longer than that stat would suggest.
So from what I've seen of it, yes it is worth buying.

The map sends me the wrong way sometimes. I'm yet to save someone falling from a building cos I'm reading the map wrong and going the wrong way! But I'll get it in the end....
Remember kids, he's Spiderman but not invincible. Falling from a tall building into the street will kill him (as I found out last night
). Holding :triangle: just before you hit the ground stops you hurting yourself. I think.Spiderman 2 is great, u get to battle some of the old characters, i have to say it is well wortht he money, i am close to finishin it now, the only downfall is that it dusn't stick entirly to the movie, but it keeps you entertained for a while, i guess they do this to lenghten the game, but it is great, i say a 10/10

The controls can sometimes be a little bit clunky with the camera but you can control your view with the right stick which almost makes up for it.
It has a very in depth control system, and swinging around the city is fun in itself. I like just swinging around and helping out on the random missions that pop up, like if someone is getting mugged or a little girl has lost her balloon. Great fun and far better than I thought it was going to be. I'll take spidey over GTA:SA any day... In fact I did.

i totally agree i rented this for 4 days and completed about 55% but i was constantly playing on this game. after you have done all the missions then a new chapter comes up called something like - 'The Next Day In The Rest Of Your Life' and from here on im not 100% sure but i think you have to collect all the extra stuff and knockout a certain amount of villains etc.. but im gonna buy this game even if its been out for a while as its great fun.

Yeah I'm trying to save it so there is always something to do when I put it on. I'm not really fussed about the story mode just now, concentrating on getting as many upgrades as I can and collecting tokens and stuff. Then when Spidey is maxed up to the hilt I'll do the story, I haven't quite sussed out the combat system yet, sometimes I kick arse without getting hit, then other times I just get knocked all over. Only really played it for half an hour here and there.

It is a great game! Like GTA, but a lot faster but gets repetetive quite quickly. So you leave it, next day, go back on, like a fresh new game. Get bored, go on PES. next day...
