Not able to save after importing one specific team

Hi guys,

I'm having a problem installing just one team from my Option File and wondering if anyone else had this problem or knows how to solve it?

I've put every other team on with no problem, but for some reason when I try to import Portland Timbers, it won't work. I import the team just fine, check it and all of the updated data is there. But then when I go to Save, I get asked if I want to overwrite, select Yes... And then it goes straight back to the Data Management page without saving or asking me which file I want to update. So when I exit the Editor, they reset to the South American team I was trying to overwrite.

Obviously it's not a big problem as I have hundreds of other teams on there just fine - it just seems a shame to have my data so close to perfect and I can't get this one last team on! Does anyone have any ideas?

I had this problem twice, it appears to be some kind of error with the players since it only happened when I imported the team with the players and to the default slot. I solved it using a workaround:

1 - First, import the team normally, but don't tick the box to import the players (basically, it will make you have the right logo, kits, etc. So you don't have to make that manually later).

2 - Import the team to another slot, like one of the classic team for example (if you already have a team there, don't worry, you can import it back again later), but this time check the box to import players (and the box to choose the slot, obviously).

3 - At this point, I recommend you to take pictures of the formation, tactics, shirt numbers, etc. Because you'll need to recreate that later.

4 - Now, transfer all the players from the slot where you imported with the players to the right slot (where the team imported on step 1), using the transfer option. Then, recreate the formation and the numbers of the players.

5 - Enjoy! Your problem should be solved. I recommend that you export this team after doing the fixes, just in case you need it in the future you won't need to do this workaround again.


This error isn't related to the option file, it's from PES game itself, it's kinda random.

Well, it sort of worked. I have all of the correct team information in place and that's saved normally, but when I try to import the players and move them over, it won't save.

It's a bit annoying, I might have to give up on this I think. It's just so random that it's happening with this team and no others.

Strange, for me that solution worked. You imported the team with players over what team?

If I were you, I'd try again, maybe you did something wrong. But if it still doesn't work, I might have another solution (I never tried, but I think it's worth to try):

-Import the team.
-Base copy all the players over some fake players that are not in use or over created players if you have enough of them, then transfer those to a team and export it. After exporting, you can quit the edit menu, no problem if it's not saving.
-Now, try to import the export you did, with the base-copied players. If you can save after this, apply the formations, kits, logo, etc. Check if you don't have duplicated created players. And you're good to go :thumbsup:

i had that exactly once, that i could not save. i exported the team that was new, then i exit the game and start it again. changes since last save are gone, import it again, and could save. don't know why. one player from another team was gone after that.

On my game that didn't worked (I tried), I had to transfer the players to other team and only then export the team. It's really a weird bug.

I was trying to import them over one of the fake Latin America teams, can't remember which one now. I managed to get it working in the end by using your second suggestion, just manually editing all of the players, and I found a few who already existed in the game.

Maybe that's what was causing the problem, as duplicate players were being created? I used one Option file for all of the other leagues and only used this OF for the MLS, so maybe the data was conflicted or something?

Duplicate players can appear on the created players section when you import a team several times, I recommend you check it when you import something and delete any duplicate players.

I'm glad you managed to fix it, good gaming
