I've only played 8 to the end. Played a bit of X-2 (don't like that you're stuck with just three characters), a bit of 7, and have heard the story in X has so many twists that its great..............so I'm voting for 8 and will probably be the only one to do so as I could see from the little that I played of 7 that the base storyline of the player's characters was essentially the same in 8.

EDIT: I'm sure it'd help if I wasn't the only one to have voted thus far

i think that ff 8 is the best...ff 7 in second place and x-2 can go to hell..final fantasy x was just avarege..but i really enjoyed anthology(4-5)

and i have a question,when youre in ultimecias castle on disc 4,is it still posible to go out to the worldmap?

Yes you can, but couldn't remember how so checked:

Edea's House

As soon as you defeat all the weak sorceress of the past, your group will suddenly appear at Edea's House, for the final battle against Ultimecia. Follow to the beach area to see her castle. In the way north, among several bodies of SeeD cadets, you'll find three portals that eah takes you to a different place in the Time Compressed World. If you want to pass through one, just stand by it and press "X" (for the american version) or "Circle" (for the japanese version). Only the last two of then are usefull.

# Upper Left Gate leads you to the region near the Chocobo Sanctuary (Esthar coast, near Grandidi Forest)


# Center-left Gate leads your party to the region near Centra (Serengetti Plains)

# Lower left Gate leads your group to the region near Deling City, near the destroyed Missile Base (Willburn Hill)

Yes there are lots.

DarkWind Online used to be the best as it was an actual program rather than a web-based game but I think that shut down for some reason.

http://www.ttadvance.com/ is the biggest online I think.

Because its the only one I've played all the way through. I'm sure if I played 7 all the way through I'd prefer it, but I haven't. Made that excuse earlier, look up.

You can refine it from a few different items.

Laster Cannon, Energy Crystal and Power Generator spring to mind although there may be others.

I'm not a big fan of RPG's but I have played a few Final Fantasy's simply because FF7 was the first I've played, infact it was the first PC game I got and still play it to this day, I still play it because it is one of the best games I have ever played. After that I got FF8, 9, 10.

I think they are good but going down a bit, FF9, was good but I thought compared to the other ones, the characters in this one where a bit different, haven't played 10-2 simply cause my bro said it wasn't that good.

in FF8 theres a card game,FF 10 Blitz ball..so what are there in FF 9 and 7 ????

FF7 doesn't need side games, it is awesome without them. Although you do get to snowboard, ride a motorcycle and go to a fair ground type place whenever you like. Don' think FF9 has anything either.

It means bad.

The card game for 8 is the best by far, 9 just didn't work at all and served no real purpose in the game. 9 was one of the only FF games I could never get in to, maybe it had something to do with the main character being a monkey.
