I've a PS3 and that's what I'd go for if you got the money. If it's only to play one or two games, then the Xbox is cheaper and a decent online experience.

However, PS3 games are much more fluid and have a better feel. Also, the Blu-Ray aspect of it helps, meaning that soon games will be massive on the PS3 (as Blu-Ray will be able to hold up to 25 times the data a DVD can).

In conclusion - for a cheap thrill, get the Xbox. For a long term and reliable girlfriend, choose the PS3.

Ta luv I'll take it all on board before making my decision.

i would love to hear peoples opinions on weather the game will be enough of a challenge with especially weaker teams and if you play patient football. For me the game being a challenge is crucial to its success

The defenders aren't faster than the strikers!

The difference is most of the time they'll drop back and only tackle when you try to go past them.
The striker now has the initiative!
They rarely will try to make a tackle if that risks their defensive line. They are just much more cohesive as a whole line, instead of separate defenders.
If you want to go past a defender, you'll have to do some kind of dribble, to lure him... they tackle like 1000x better.

With Robben or Messi, as soon as you find some space, you are able to outrun everyone... you just need to find that space.

Shooting has been completely re-hampered.
Now it's much more difficult to nail a good shot from outside the box... you can still do it, but the success percentage is lower... of course Gerrard or Xavi can still do it pretty consistently.

Other thing I noticed is that is much more important to aim the ball!
You really have to aim the shot, or else the keeper will make a save...

In 2008 there were times where you aimed right and the shot would go straight ahead or to the left... now the shot goes where you aim it.

Also a new factor has been added.
It's like when you are going parallel to the goal line while running.
A lot of the times when that happens, if you shoot, the player has a tendency to hit it with the outside of his boot... and most of the times the shot will go as corkscrew... wide and without strength.

I'm not talking about aim..i'm talking about the feel...when I want to HAMMER the ball..it should feel like I hammered it..not like I took a shot with my BAD LEG and this is how it feels right now....

PES is all about GAMEPLAY..well make me FEEL LIKE I'M ACTUALLY PLAYING

ALSO HAS ANYBODY NOTICED THE "INVISIBLE WALLS" IN YOUR 16 YARD BOX WHERE YOUR DEFENDERS KEEP BOUNCING AGAINST

Shouldn't be my internet cause i've got an umlimited broadband connection, but i've got it know. I cant wait to get my hands on the real deal.

I've seen some cases regarding the demo that took a lot longer than two days, so I wouldn't worry . Mine took a fair while to download, it was very annoying, and I was really disappointed after it had downloaded as well :(

I'm loving the game the more I play it. I nearly score a beautiful goal with Liverpool. After some good spell of possession, I passed it out to the left to Benayoun who was on around the 20m line. He dragged it back and cut in past Alves, then passed it to Torres, who was surrounded by about three Barcelona defenders on the D of the defending team's box. The defenders went to press Torres who let the ball go through his legs, which fell perfectly into Gerrard's path, who was making a run from midfield. Gerrards breaks into the box with Yaya on his tail. Gerrard shoots, but Yaya proves to be too much of a distraction as the ball is hit well wide.

Once you get to grips with the game, the moves you are able to make can look beautiful. To be honest, that's been the case with most PES games.

Generally I'm liking the game-play.

One MAJOR HUGE MASSIVE problem is the SLOWNESS of shots.
The ball moves slower when you unleash an attempted piledriver than when you play a simple lay-off pass.

RIDICULOUS....Too late for them to bother fixing it ???

Oh..one other thing.... The infuriating regularity of the CPU making super accurate sliding tackles (on top player mode)

and as I've mentioned before I cannot stand the GUI and menu graphics..shit

Also the crowd chanting is rubbish and I REALLY hope there's going to be a way of reducing the volume of the players shouting and screaming all the fekkin time.

i agree totally! when i first picked up my xbox control after waiting eagerly for the demo to download (slow as hell i might add) i was very, well lets say displeased, but the more i play it the more i start to see the foundations of a brilliant football game emerging, yes there are many problems but we must remember this is only a 65- 70% completed version, so give it a chance!

one thing i will say however is in agreement with the previous post, the shots are rubbish, the ball floats like some kind of balloon, i was upset with that, i felt like we had just asked fifa to borrow there ball's :crymore:

none the less i voted it a hit as i can see something really good emerging this year..... i hope

Been reading that people are having lag free games online.

Fingers crossed :)

Mig, I hope so.

I havent played it as much as I would have liked, but I like it more every game, its not as easy as PES08, the defending is better and shooting is harder and it will take a little bit of time to get used to, which I dont mind at all.

If I could save goals from the demo then I would have shown you all my free kick from Makelele (seriously). My mate and me had a 'Slect Player' with him as Henry and me as Makelele for France. Anyway, he gets brought down about 22 yards out and I think Ribery was to take it, but I changed it to me so I could have a stab at it, becasue I didnt take a free kick yet in the game. So, Maka steps up and stuck her in the top corner. B-e-a-utiful.

im lovin it but forgive me for being superficial the ronaldo free kick disappoints me, it looks retarded and doesnt replicate it well enough, unlike beckhams or ROnaldinho's of previous PES'

I think its going to be the mutts nuts!! Every year, we moan about certain aspects of the game, only to realise after a couple of weeks of play what konami have done. Of course it feels different, it always does, something always feels awkward, its clever coz they always manage to do it. You have to learn all over again.

This is why i love pes, and unlike most i think 2008 was the best yet, minus the replays and the lag. I played it all year, master league every friday with me mate and still enjoy it.

Lastly fifa is ok, i bought it, i can see why people enjoy it, but it is only ok, not pro evo. Only one winner!!!!!!!!
