I keep reading peoples moans on here!! when are peopl going to shut up if you dont like it. i dont want to hear about it!! if your not playing it any more. see yaaaaaa!!

When i need a fix i go on and play a few games! pro evo is about the only game I can relax turn my brain off and play! recently i started picking my own England squad and doing all the cups!!

And against what every one says Ive had a good time playing it!! I think it plays much better in these national cup matches!

The only thing I want to know is how the hell you can beat some one (do em!!) in a cool trick style when running head on to them. ive tried to pull off tricks or steps (diagonal down and up etc) overs but i end up running into em most of the time and loosing the ball. yeah i can pass round em, but i want to make them look stupid in a one on one. any thoughts??

Agree with you there, the game has many flaws, but I still have fun with it. I´m with you when saying Cup modes sometimes is more exciting to play, it seems the other teams give you a harder time, would say exibition and leagues modes too. When playing only ML the game can become boring cause you can get very good players soon and have a very strong squad in your hands.

Anyway, pulling tricks can be a little fustrating at times, have seen other people pointing that out many times. I played a lot of exibition matches and got many tricks from inside the pause menu, it´s not easy, but it also depends on the player you´re controlling, somes tricks can be done only by a few players. My suggestion is to practice and hope the tricks will work when you´re running to the last defender in the last minute of you´re Cup Final.

World Cup usually are intense, especially with a few friends. 3-4 people, all "humans" in different groups and let the action begin!

Good to hear. One things for sure is that there is the same if not more complaining on the Fifa forums, and that neither game is perfect.

As for tricks, it's tough if you are running straight at a player you're not really setting yourself up well for a trick, are you??? Same goes in real footy. Most of the sweet moves are better pulled off when not at full pace and when on angles to the defender, i.e. when turning.

A couple you might try though when running at a defender:

- fake shot.
- fake shot with stepover
- step-over then burst of pace (at angles too).
- roulette, obviously this is the main one you can do at pace.
- press forward twice. This is a new move this year. Your player will step on the ball and then push it ahead. This is more for wing play though.
- I think the flip flap can be done at pace, but not sure.
- L1 step overs (many small ones) into a 45 or 90 degree turn.
- executing these turns with the right timing on R1 and the right player will give you the sweetest new moves because those players will do a cross-over dribble, using their off leg to push the ball ahead. Off the kickoff I did one of these turns once with Robinho and basically burned the entire defense, found myself one on one with last line of defense out of position with only two touches, amost scored too.
- nutmegs are a bit hard to pull off, but I have done them, and doing a pass-around then getting on the other side of a player is possible too.
- scoop-ups not too sure about these, but like the flip flap and reverse flip flap I think you can do these at pace one on one.

For me though, I usually stop the ball if I want to do anything tricky. Once you stop the ball with R1, you can do more fakes, or turns, or changes of pace. Mathews fake or drag back are useful, but drag back not so much this year due to the analog.

I find the most effective and simplest move of all though is a simple stopping of the ball with R2. Especially on the wings, if you stop the ball with R2 you are suddenly facing the box and the defense is flying behind the net. Now you've got plenty of options for a cut back ;)

A bit cheap, but that works in several situations when you want to maintain posession, including around the top of the box.

PEACE

cheers thats a lot to try and keep me going.

i used to be able to do tricks i just seem to not be quick enough with the fingers in this version lol
or maybe i just panic when faced with the ball one on one suddenly then by the time the brain remembers the best trick im on my ass and the defender has the ball lol

Very true. I am still loving PES especially this years instalment. I've got friends who loves fifa but says this year pes is better. I am happy cause they are now playing Pes.
As for the tricks check youtube for visual tricks or just read it in the pause section under command list. Its much better to try and set ur self up for the trick because by running straight into the opposition is not gonna help.;)

Ok I myself enjoy pes more then fifa 10 I like to offline modes more on pes then on fifa. I have bought both so I would know by experience fifa MM in not fun to play you can buy almost any player you want with a half a star manager rating which is not correct. Also fifa BAP is not fun even with the gameface gimmick Pes ML, BL, league modes and cup modes are more enjoyable to play. Even the edit mode is addicting and just to let you know that for all the moaners if you go to the fifa forums you would see that it has way more bugs the pes and EA has said they are not going to fix them with a new gameplay patch. I only like fifa for it online play and that on full manual controls because if you play anyone online that is full assisted they would ping pong you to death which is unreal in real sim football and real life. So for all those who want to change or think that fifa is a better sim only because of online play your fulling yourself. Yes pes is not great as PES 6 but its getting close look how long it took them pes 6 to get it right so let have some patience I'm sure that pes 2011 will be even better but for now I am enjoying pes 2010 for now which for me is a better sim then fifa gimmick football.
