PES Demo (PES in General)

Hi peeps just a questin and a little guidence really. I have played the demo loads and I am struggling on a couple of points. I cannot seem to tackle for the life of me, is there a technique to this the cpu seems to glide past me with ease with nothing I can do. How to do actually get a tackle in?.

Secondly the passing and through ball is driving me insane, everytime I seem to pass the ball it seems to pass to the opposition and everytine I try a through pass straight to a defender. Is there some kind of technique to thsi also.

Lastly running with the ball, the cpu can run past me pulling of all kinds of tricks aand just the general close control really, when I try to take on a defnder I can never get past any, he just sticks a foot out and tackles me with ease. Any tips on close control and beating defenders.

I just woudl like to knwo teh in and outs really, I knwo I have to master teh basics forst but I am not having with luck with these lol.

you cant just hold down the takle button you have to jockey and stay with him and time it right , a good technique for winning the ball is to have your team mate pressure the guy on the ball while you cut off his passing options

As for the through ball wait until you see the striker inline with the defender while hes making his run

Don't be heavy on the sprint button only use it when you have acres of space to exploit or you are past your man , the A.I is smarter in this one compared to 08 they wont rush out to put a tackle in unless they have cover or you receive the ball with your back to goal on 1 on 1's they will track back so you have to take the ball to them try jinking one way then the other turn them inside out then quick burst on the sprint button

I found that tackling depends on the players attributes. Some are good while others are not. Just make sure you are timing your tackles.

If you are trying to manage a whole team at once try only controlling 1-3 players on the team. Also turn on Assisted mode.

Try FIFA09, at least the AI won't do any tricks :fplm:. Ok, I kid, I kid.
Are you using the easiest difficulty? If not, try that and see what happens. I have found PES2009 difficulty settings a tad more challenging.

I just would like to know the in and outs really, I know I have to master the basics forst but I am not having with luck with these lol.

I get the impression you may be trying a difficulty setting that's to high. But if that's not the case what device are you using to play PES2009? If the keyboard I've read from others that it's pretty difficult to play. You may want to invest in a xbox360 controller IMO.

Thanks for the help guys, I am playing on the 360 and I was playing on the higher difficulty so I think it may be the case that it is just harder. With me not playing PES for a while I think I just need to go back to basics.

PES 2009 PC Demo Problem

Is there anyone having too fast gameplay problem at pc demo with a high end pc? I have ati hd 4850, core 2 duo e6550 2,33 ghz, 3 gb ddr II ram. I hate pes for being so fast. I cannot be sure if the problem is my graphic card. Everbody says hd 4850 is one of the best cards. That may be true for other games but not for pes series. ( I have the same problem at pes 2008 and pes 6)

P.S. I tried frame skipping and vsync tricks, not worked. And my monitor runs at 60 hz constantly. I measure fps during the game.

I had the problem with my laptop (ATi Mobility Radeon X1600).
When I first played the demo I had the driver settings on performance which has all the AA & AF switched off. Once I enabled AA & AF along with setting other things to quality, it returned to normal pace. Maybe try tweaking the driver.

Haven't had that problem on my desktop with a nVidia GTX260 though.

I have not tried PES on the pc as I dont think my poor little guy can handle it, its quite old now I only have a P4 3Ghz and a 9800 XT
