Pes haters - Fifa lovers

Its laughable really that there are people who feel the need to come on these forums and knock pes, say its useless, and that you’re an idiot if you buy it and don’t by Fifa. Some of these people haven’t even tried one of the PES demos released! (that’s intelligent)

I’ve noticed that the bulk of pesgaming users are open to criticism over pes, constructive arguments, and the acknowledgement that Fifa has improved a lot in the last couple of years. I, like many, acknowledge that Pes has its flaws and always has, but it’s a game I love playing for a number of reasons.

Most users have the common goal of trying to improve the PES series. Yet there a certain few who appear blind sighted in their views on PES, and will go to any means necessary to slate the product and express their undying love for Fifa. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not angry that you feel this way, you’re entitled to your viewpoint, but why come on a site like this with these stubborn and immovable views? Would it not make more sense to express them on a Fifa forum?

I can only assume (rightly or wrongly), that they hold some resentment over Pes, and out of spite they resort to slating pes and pes users. This might be because of years and years of Pro Evo being the closest representation to the beautiful game. Undoubtedly last years Fifa made a big improvement, and maybe now they fear Pro Evo has stepped up their game substantially, and that they will once again secure the majority of football gaming fans approval. These feelings might have been amplified after Fifa has come out and has some evident bugs and flaws. Who knows? I might be completely wrong.

I, like many, don’t mind people preferring Fifa to Pes, I can understand many of the reasons for their views, but it’s the way that some go about expressing these views which baffles me. Some of the language they use and the way they argue on this site is disgusting and i’m surprised they haven’t been booked.

I pity them, but in a slightly twisted way I get pleasure out of it, because for them to resort to these actions is just pathetic, and as I said at the start, its laughable.

To be honest I think most of these comments come from people that havent really got down and played the new game. I remember being sceptical about pes 1 and it took me a while to get in to it but once I did I realised what everyone was talking about, how it just feels more like football and you get the emotion of football.

I get it all day at work. I tell them to play the new winning eleven demo and they say they played the pes 10 demo and its crap and how fifa is more real and pes looks like an old arcade game. This tells me that they havent played it much to get into it.

I had a friend round the other night to play and he had just got fifa 10 and telling me how good it was and that he didnt like pes and i made him play a few games with me and i could tell he was enjoying it! but come the end it was as if he didnt want to like it! I dont get this...

What is this problem that fifa fans have?!

I say fifa fans because ive noticed me and other pes fans on this forum have played fifa 09 last year and quite enjoyed it when pes was at a low point and we havnt been biased. To be honest i just want to play the best football game!

This year however i have played BOTH demos and my opinion is PES is quite a bit better than fifa to be honest. I just think fifa feels too lose and you can score goals too easy and most are very similar. I just played pes and scored 3 goals with brazil and to be honest the 3 i scored were better than any of the goals i scored in the FIFA 10 demo AND FIFA 09 game. Its just so exciting and cant for it to be released!

You can throw that exact same post for the PES coloured specs brigades that refuse to believe that PES is anything but perfect.

I can accept it because your right it hasnt, i bought fifa 08 and 09 and didnt bother with pes. But i just really enjoy it this year and think its a better game than fifa... I dont really care about the licences and real leagues i just want a good multiplayer experience! And i think more people should give it a go before writing it off.

God knows why konami released that pes demo and not the winning eleven one in the UK. We are probably the biggest market for pes. Marketing suicide! Most people dont even know about the WE demo.

But you know what, it can come back. And to be honest I preferred the we 10 demo to fifa 10 demo and last year I said it open that fifa 09 was the better game. But again, I'll wait for full release of both games and then judge.
All of these debates depend on opinions and some can't accept others views.
Also to the opening post. It is well said.
Everyone can say what they want, but how come they bash pes without even playing it in a pes forum? It's just not right.

Of course it can, if pes can get a proper game engine which re creates realistic games of football, its back on again.

Mind you if ea can keep adding more realism and more player indviduality, its night night for pes.

But actually I think next year PES 2011 has a real good chance if it can do the above, EA dropped the ball this year, I dont expect PES to be better this year, but EA had a chance to fucking bury PES, play fifa 10, it has some annoying things in it, but the potential there was nutz, and you know what, in terms of in game-gameplay, I cant think of a game on its level right now, im talking ever.

mate thats ridiculous. no one here is saying that the new Pes is god like.

The new winning demo is really good, but far from perfect. Just like with fifa, many will say its awesome, and i'm sure it is very good, but i can confidently say that that's far from perfect as well.

Oh and player individuality in fifa 10 demo is better than 09 but hey, pes 09 had great individuality but pes 10 demo has much more individuality so fifa for me, can never reach pes individuality. Well at least for now.
In the demo (fifa) I liked it, better than 09. I think this year will be a good year for football games.

I agree with you shaun, good post. this is the thing which annoys me. How can people have a go at the new Pes without even playing the demo!? Its ridiculous.
At the end of the day its down to personal preference.

We are perfectly within reason to make judgements based on what we have seen so far, again, i dont give a fuck about the demo, even if i didnt like it, you lot would be saying "dont judge the demo, its old code, etc etc"

So Im just gonna wait for the full game, which i am looking forward too, but lets be serious

Once you play with Skill dribbling and Jockeying and 360 with the new animations and the passing system in fifa 10, its gonna be hard to go back to PES which has none of those things.

Then again i just played a game of PES5 for old times sake, was great actually, enjoyed it more than i thought i would, was such a good game for its time, the graphics are really good, the fluidity is good, the shooting is good, the passing is good. Yeah, enjoyed that game.

So please speak for yourself when it comes to BOLDED part. Because I owned FIFA 09 and I am not at all convinced by FIFA10.

BTW -- The tactical sliders actually work in PES. FIFAs sliders, like I said many times, are just for an avg. JOE who thinks he knows about soccer. They have little to no effect.

I used to think it was only Americans that were stupid when it came to soccer...I live here so I do know hehe
