But seriously, what is that crap about only 8 directions in PES/WE? How many directions are there in fifa? If you use the R1 dribble in PES/WE there are defintely more directions available.

It's overrated because it's fans are perfectly willing to overlook fundamental flaws that they would be furious about in other games. These mistakes have been made time and time again in this series and they're they're all basic and easy to fix and yet they seem unable to do it.

he has a point there. as much as i like my PES games id have to be the first to admit it has its faults which havent been fixed from game to game. ive only been playing the series since PES1 admittedly but PES2 carried over a number of faults from PES1 which annoyed me and should have been sorted out.

over-all though, theres no contest. FIFA is shit and completely flawed, PES/WE is slightly flawed but could be perfected if konami changed a couple of fundamental things in the gameplay.

As for the comment about pro evo having flaws - everything has flaws if you scrutinise it close enough.

Prime example - REAL football has loads of flaws IMO like bore-draws, no tv replays, bad refereeing etc etc. It's still the greatest game on earth. Ditto Pro Evolution

PES2 is worth ATLEAST a 4/5 despite its couple of small flaws in the gameplay. ive been playing PES2 for about 9 month now and theres nothing that makes the game flawed enough to make it a 2/5 game :/

I too couldnt resist to read those post from just 2 guys on the whole subject who thinks fifa is better, but its not worthy to discuss about what just 2 guys said.

They made me laught do and real fans of the soccer game know better.

Just let them talk its not their fault they can master the best footy game at the moment.

I have been playing Fifa since 1998. My Fifa 2003 is now gathering dust. Despite playing Fifa at the highest level, I find that Fifa2003 is the worst of Fifa series. I wondered how they overlooked the corners. During corners, you do not have to do anything. YOur keeper will either dive to the right or left to retrieve the ball. That's all. YOur opponent will not be able to hit the ball over the cross bar on a volley. Neither will the shot hit the woodwork by the crossbar or upright. Whenever there is a corner, the same routine will repeat itself. However if you were to hit the Goalie rush button, you are in deep shit. There is a very strong possiblity that your opponent will score through a volley.
I have just seen what they have written on the next editiion Fifa 2004. It looks impressive but I am taking it with a pinch of salt.
Fifa2003 was a rough job, wonder how it got through production line.I have played WE7 recently and I can say Fifa is a million years behind in terms of gameplay.

Ps i stated playing footy games back the early 80's , i think fifa international on the mega drive may have been one the first fifas and ive tried just about every footy game released on anything even pc so i know where im comming from now emlyn hughes soccer on the pc back in 1985 was the mother of all games well for the time anyways :eek: :rolleyes:
