I think the title says it all...

I loaded up PES 2010 after lunch, and, as usual, after playing a couple of games the game crashed on a menu screen. No buttons on my controller could do anything. I turned off the PS3 by holding down the power button on the front. It worked as usual after this.

So, I was happily playing a game online when the ball went out for a throw. Suddenly the game paused and the stars in the bottom left corner of the screen appeared and continued to flash. After waiting for about 5 minutes to see whether the game would spring back into life I decided to turn off the console, this time via the XMB. However, the console crashed as it was turning off and made quite a lot of beeping.

I then turned the PS3 back on again and was confused at why PES didn't appear in the game section. I have since tried many different discs, blu-ray films, games etc.. Once after I had turned off the console a blu-ray film appeared under the video section. However, when I took this out the next disc I put in would not appear.

Be very careful with this game!! I have never experienced such regular crashing as I did with this version of PES on any other game, and now I no longer have a working PS3. Thanks Konami!

You can't blame PES 10 for your PS3 faults. Your PS3 crashed. Try formatting everything, or re-setting all the settings and see what happens. If it continues, send your PS3 in for a repair. But you can't blame PES and Konami, that's absurd.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to have to format my PS3. It was indeed stupid of me to blame it on Konami, but surely you can forgive me for being somewhat frustrated.

It is very unlikely that PES caused my PS3 to break. However, I have experienced many, many crashes whilst playing this game and this caused me to make the link between the two.

Does this happen with any other game or maybe a bluray movie ?? If its ONLY while playing PES 10 then I guess you should blame PES10. But I don't see how a game can damage your PS3, just don't get it. Maybe I'm wrong. I'd love if someone else chimes in.

I used to have this happen with Tom Clancy's RSV2. Didn't know why, but the game frequently locked up, and froze my PS3. It would require me to manually turn off the power and reboot the system.

Of course it never fried my PS3 completely though, but it was alarming.

y cant he blame pes10 for his ps3 faults? if pes didnt crash he wouldnt have needed to switch it off all the time from either the main power or the power button at the front of the consol.

his ps3 only crashes when pes10 is player therefore imo its pes10 fault.

Just sounds coincidental that it happens when he's on PES, and ultimately it's his PS3 that's bogus. Let's for example say he plays PES 90% of the time he's on the PS3, is it Konami's fault? Of course not, the chances are it's just his PS3 kicking the bucket.

I think you'll find that many have complained about this, my PS3 has never crashed once when playing any game other than PES. It is only 4/5 months old but it crashed regularly on PES/

Many if not most have had this problem only with PES. I will definitely blame Konami if my PS3 gives way.

Fortunately my PS3 has somehow spluttered back into life! It hasn't yet crashed again, but I only played a couple of games of PES this afternoon so it might be too early to tell.

As I wrote earlier, I have absolutely no idea what caused my blu ray drive to fail. I thought perhaps it was due to dust build up but this would not explain why I only experienced crashes whilst playing PES.

Anyway, I'm just glad to now be able to play PES again. The recent patch really has improved the gameplay imo.

Hey mate, I had a problem too with PES2010 on my PS3.

That game crashed while I was on Master League, so I got up and turned off my PS3. Then I turned it back on and went to game. PES2010 was there, so I clicked on it and the game started loading.
You know at the start where you can see the stars in the bottom left hand corner? I was waiting for that to load and it just quit the game by itself. So it took me back the the XMB menu. I clicked on PES2010 again and it started again, the same thing happened. I was scared, I thought my PS3 has broke.
So, I ejected PES2010 and put in Modern Warfare 2 (The Call of Duty game). I clicked on it and it worked fine, a played a few games online and then I gave PES2010 another try. This time PES2010 worked. What a relief!

So I thought I almost lost my PS3 - If you know what I mean.

But it still works fine :)

Oh and 'Meister007' - Good! Hope your PS3 stays nice and healthy :) Haha

Having exactly the same trouble with the PS3 crashing with PES2010 in there. Happens mainly in masterleague when im waiting for the game to start and youre getting the players lining up in the tunnel. Itll just stop responding, the controller will do nothing so i have to get up and turn her off. I have to turn it back on at the console too after that as my PS button on my controller wont do the job which leads me to wonder if its a controller related problem. Also had it crash when its trying to load the edit data as soon as the game loads.

Fortunately the game and PS3 has always restarted and work fine afterwards.

I have noticed ive had my controller plugged in via the usb everytime this has happened too.

Also this only happens when im playing PES so yeah, it is Konami's fault, no one elses.

this happens to me aswell, always when loading a game up or when they walk out the tunnel, its defo the game, doesnt do it on any other of my games but its just a simple fix, just annoying tho

This has happened to my ps3 to. It now however will crash if I attempt to reply to a message received when I pause and then enter the menu by the PS button. It has now decided not to allow any disc to run. HELP!!!

the game only crashes when you are 'signed in',so if playing ML just turn your router off,or unplug your ethernet cable.

What did we learn here?

Throw your consoles in the garbage, that's where they belong.
Nothing compares to a PC, even a cheap gaming PC is better than any console.
