PES3 PC Version, Full Game - My Mini Review

I've been playing the PC version of PES3 for a day now and its pretty damn good. At the moment i dont find it as good as the PC version but that's because i'm using the damn keyboard for controls! A PS2 USB adaptor is on its way to me tho :D

The graphics are great , alot sharper than the PS2 version. I'm running it at 1028 x 768 and there isn't any slowdown at all. I have a Radeon 9500, 2.4ghz, 768 MB Ram btw so thats probably why :) I will try running it at a higher resolution later.

I can't get into it fully due to the crappy keyboard controls so i'm gonna wait till i get my USB adapter in a couple of days to play it properly.

A lot of people have speed issues like they did in the demo, i don't have any. But in the readme file it says increase the resolution if its playing too fast and descrease it if its too slow. I don't know why Konami couldn't optimize it to run at a normal speed. I have to use 60hz refresh rate too else i do get speed issues sometimes but not always.

Overall its more or less a direct port of the PS2 version so everyone go buy that PS2 USB pad adaptor from play.com to appreciate this game fully.

Oh and i heard there's already a kits patch out on lomatungs ftp ;)

Where are you based mate? In the UK?
Did you have the game on pre-order with a mail order company?

I only ask 'cos I have my doubts about the game being released on the 21st. Sometimes mail order firms do get games out early, so if yours is a legit copy then it's good news for Friday.

I'm in the UK yeah, i got 2 copies a downloaded 1 *cough cough* and I got the retail version through my Bro in law again, same way i got PES3 for the PS2 early.

It will be out on the 21st trust me, play.com are already packing and sending them out now. The game is already released in numerous countries too, Sweden and Italy included :)

Yeah mate this is from the readme. I forgot to mention, everyone does know this is on a DVD Rom right? So you need a DVD player in your PC for it to work :

I have no idea why you need 5GB of HD space either. When installing you pick the language(s) you want to install. 1 language takes just over 600mb of space, all 5 i should imagines takes over 3gb :)

I've had some problems with the game today too. The same as the problems quite a few people are getting. It seemed okay but today the menu's went all funny. It was unresponsive selecting which mode etc i wanted, a real pain.

Anyway i found my solution was to turn Vsync off. Doing so got rid of the menu problem but brought back the speed problems in the game. Running the game at 1280 x 1024 slowed the game right down. Running the game at 1024 x 768 caused the game to be too fast. I finally found a compromise and normal speed when selecting 1152 x 864 resolution. Its a pain in the arse really and just shows that this is a just a direct port and hasn't been optimised at all :(

I cant run the game!, the logo of konami appears, and then the screen goes black...and the nothing more happens....i got a good PC, anyone with the same problem?

Dannyboy, have you tried adding AA and AF at 1024*768 to reduce the speed issues...like try 4X AA and 4X AF..I was playing the demo at that res, high detail and max AA and Max AF and it ran like a dream.

"Hey guys good news for people that the game dont works fot its because you need a codec or something for the movie clip that plays will thats why you get black screen and freez i dont know the codec but what i did is after installing the game go in pes3 directory which is in C:/Program Files\Konami\Pro Evolution Soccer 3/DAT and delete the cafe and then the game will work. AT file."

t1000v2.0 I'll try that tomorrow mate, i'm guessing it should work and slow the game down at 1024 x 768. Cheers mate :)

is it even online yet..... cant wait to get mine for comp.. then we could all like play each other and save goals and put it on tha site :D

come to think of it this could have a whole new thing, like we have a kinda league or sumthing :D
what do you's think about that?

is there any way of setting a server up so ya can play yours m8s :confused: or connect to ip for example or is there no option for it and if not WHY not konami ffs

Hey, I'm new to this forum and PES in general (pure pc gamer ;-) )

I'm having the same problems with the full version as in the demo...

isntead of the game running either too fast or too slow...
it does both o_O
in midfield with not many players on screen it speeds up to
unplayable speeds...

and when you get a cross in for instance, it slows down to a slight slowmotion speed... it's still has a smooth framerate though...

this combined with the fact that my Thrustmaster Dual Analog gamepad doesn't work (analog/buttons.. they all hang or do nothing... only thing i CAN do is configure them... it's all effed up in the game though :-/ )


Other than that... i think this game rocks...
i've been played FIFA since the original came out... and it's gotten progressively worse since 98 :p
like most EA games really... NHL too :-/
well.. this year it's better... but that's a diffrent topic...

Just can't figure it out, I have met all the minimum requirements and still the game runs in slow motion. I am using a GE Force 4 graphic card. Apparently there is a patch available but it is used to slow down the game and not to speed it up. How ironic.

Wish I could play it. Apparently I have no disc inserted yet its there sitting in the drive. It installed fine but won't load, at all. Any ideas?
