I read this article on the PES3 insight just now:

Quote:

"Winning Eleven (WE) is the Japanese release of Pro Evolution Soccer. Essentially Winning Eleven and Pro Evolution Soccer are the same game, however, there are normally one or two changes and differences. This year, for example, Winning Eleven 7 is the same game as Pro Evolution Soccer 3."

Unquote:

Out of curiosity I tested the winning eleven7 in our local gameshop yesterday. I can honestly say that the 2 are not the same.

1. WE7 has all the top european clubs and kits (fully licensed). No need to edit your team name or player name.
2. The player motion is much more fine tuned then PES3 (70
% better)
3. Player graphic in WE7 is crap compared to PES3 including the replay mode
4. Editing or modifying players is also below par compared to PES3
5. Commentary is still in Japanese.

Aside from the above, everything is the same.

I suggest that before you purchase PES3, try a demo of WE7 just to make sure. I've now set aside my PES3 to give way to WE7.

I thought this site contains accurate information of both games...

PES3 is better than WE7 ! and PES3 has more licenses than WE7 does.

So basically what you are saying that they are not the same game, right? Why post that WE7 is the Japanese version of PES3 or vice versa??? I always thought that the only difference between the two was the language. PES is in english while WE is in Japanese....

First off, WE7 does not have all the top european clubs licensed. Far from it. The only teams in the game that are licensed are Milan, Parma, Lazio and AS Roma. In PES3, you can add Feyenoord and Juventus to that list.

It is fair to say that Winning Eleven is the Japanese equivalent of PES since they both use the exact same engine and play almost identically. This was not entirely true with PES2, since, for some odd reason, Konami changed it to be more arcadey.

However, as many gamers are finding out, PES3 is very much like WE7 with a few minor differences. Whether those changes are good or bad is a matter of opinion.

To make a quote use the following:

[ quote ] Hello this is a quote [ /quote ]
But without any spaces in the square [ ] brackets.

Without spaces in the brackets, the above line would look like
Hello this is a quote

As PicturePerfect said, WE7 only has AC, Parma, Roma and Lazio licensed for the club teams. It doesnt have fully licensed clubs at all.

PES3 has an extra 2 more licensed teams.

PES3 also has newer animations and a new trick move.
