Let's try to keep all the moves/controls and how to do stuff in WE8 in one thread. If you find out how to do anything new, please post it in here (not in a new thread).
Apparently the Training mode explains all of the controls.
Let's get them all translated (and simplified/explained) and posted in here.
I and other mods will update this first post to include all new info.
Cheers.
Firstly check out:

Thanks to all that posted new moves.

Keep your finger on L1 while theres two people standing over the ball makes the nearest person hit it
and press the right analogue stick in to lay it off
dannyboy20 said:* When running, Tap R2 and loose the dpad and your player will jump over the ball and turn 180 degrees protecting it.
* When running, tap R1 to stop the ball. The tap R1 and L1 together to knock the ball a bit in front of you. This supposedly lets you control your shots better.
El Chino said:"feint cross" when running with (hold ) tap the D-pad twice in the direction your facing to fake a cross....you player will move his body then quickly tap the ball forward

I used only Recoba so far as I heard from the peeps at evo-web it worked with him....so
1. Get Recoba dribble straight towards goal on the right side inside the box as if you were going to shoot.....
2. once you are about five yards in and still a good distance from the goal (don't sprint)
3. do a side step using R2 to Recoba's right
4. quickly after that touch the ball straight forward ONCE
5. Once Recoba comes to the ball hit square, and hopefully he brings his left foot around, instead of using the weaker right foot.
The idea here is to get the ball on the weak foot of the player.
Thanks to all that posted new moves.
