photoshop help needed

I hope someone can help i am useless at photoshop and have this emblem of my local team, i want to remove all the white from outside the red surround to use to create my own team

right click and save rather than copying and pasting. Will be transparent around the edges.

Maybe he got it done by saving the file with alpha transparency using an image editor.
