Playing PES 2008 on a US PS2

I am getting a PS2 specifically for this WE/PES. It is currently an unmodded box.

I am looking for the simplest path to make it so I can buy PES 2008 from ebay.uk, import it to the USA, and then play it on my PS2.

I know that I can't play it by default. What is the best way to trick the PS2 into playing this game?

Also, is there anybody out there who is currently playing PES 2008 on a US PS2?

yeah i bought the game on ebay UK and i play it with the swap magic 3.8. instead of having the mod chip you can just use the swap magic 3.8 version to play the game on the ps2. i have the slim ps2.

So if I buy the NTSC SwapMagic 3.6 (I couldn't find 3.8 for sale,) Slidetool, and then a PAL version of the UK PES 2008 I should be in business.
