A disjointed 3-4-3 works well for me.
Except when my defenders stop for a cup of tea.....

What do you mean by disjointed? Can you explain a little on that? =)

try a 3-2-3-2 like this:

................x.............x.............x.................
...............................................................
.......................x.............x.........................
...............................................................
...........x.........................................x.........
..............................x................................

Any one use 4-2-3-1? On and also, how about when you playing human player? What kind of formation you would use?

Normal 4-4-2, no nonsense a.k.a Manchester United's formation. I like Benfica's aswell, very adventurous, but will get you a severe 5 stars ( Copyright Of Dundons ), when facing a really good opponent.

It's a 3-2-2-3 with players moved around quite a bit. I won the Div2 league and cup on 5* and lost only 1 match (when I was playing 4-4-2) so it's going OK for me. Joint top of the Spanish league so far.....

5-3-2! always works best for me. Nice strong defense to block the attackers from breaking through. Pacey wingers who can sprint up and down the sides for crosses and a centre midfeilder whos a fantastic playmaker. Then 2 brilliant strikers to blast those goals in. ;) Use it trust me.

Well i think when i get PES4 on xbox id be using a 4-5-1 with the two wingers pushing forewards and inwards, with two central midfielders sitting back and covering the defence. Ive been practicing how i can alter it in PES3

since through/long balls are a lot more effective in WE8 my system is

..........<...SB...>
.................................................WF...>

..............................<..CM...>
.........CB
..........................<...DM........................CF...>
.........CB
.............................<...CM...>

................................................WF...>
.......<...SB...>

I have also been using Libero play if I have Lucio/Edmilson on my squad...if I play my one two's right I can cause I bit of havoc with my opponents defensive system...they become my second striker if I get some good supply to my wingers

the 2 CM's can help in defensive duties but also push up to meet my wingers crosses and mop up and defensive clearances...of course this is all theory...cant wait to test it on XB LIVE

What if you have opponents with wingers? Looks like your players are very much centered this way
I play 4-3-3 with 2 attacking Midfielders.

A lot of people saying 4-2-2-2 works great. I think I am going to give that a try. I just wonder how wide I should put the RM and LM.
