I am fully aware that this mya be nit picking at what is a good game already, and it is something that i am sure won't change on PES4, but something that Konami should definatly consider. I think that instead of featuring the very tacky, very basic and very annoying background music which gives the menu systems a very 90's feel, they should invest in getting some proper music for peopel to enjoy. If you are an avid Pro Evo fan, you will spend a certain amount of time editing teams and players, and whilst doing so, the music can be slightly frustrating. Fifa led the way with this 6 years ago when they used Blur's Song 2 as their theme, to good effect. PES as a series would benefit from having proper music in the background. With the game now being on DVD, there is little in the way of size restrictions, and the new WWE game (Day of Reckoning) has managed to do this brilliantly. By getting 5 or 6 popular american artists on board to provide two songs each. I am not suggesting that PES throws money at big named bands like Oasis, or Robbie Williams, or Eminem etc. to promote their game. But i am sure they could strike up a deal with 10 or 12 up and coming bands, of different genres (A couple of Hip Hop, a couple more Rock, Punk, Dance, and Rap) to use their songs for BGM and even over the highlights (the techno mix of Jerusulim is getting annoying) in retrun for some much needed exposure. I don't know if many people have thought about this but if you have ever had to put a CD on over Pro whilst editing, or have found yourself frustrated listening to the same tunes, then i hope you know what i mean.

yea, they music can be annoying sometimes.

If you are getting it for the XBox hopefuly they will have fully implemented custom soundtracks (would rule) and if you are getting it for the PS2 I would suggest play iTunes or your DVD player or something while editing.

OMG, what would so rule is being able to put in your own song for the replay. And if your score from a free kick or distance or a penality it would change each time.

PS: I'm getting both versions :D

The inconvenience of putting on CD? Are you the laziest guy in the world? Do you eat doughnuts and take a lot of lifts?

Crikey life's tough when you have to operate a PS2 and a stereo!!! :p

yeah i agree, just got to look at a game like tiger woods to see the difference music makes, because their music is always class

Every other game out there seems to have decent music now though, not just the EA sports and wrestling games. Konami are either lazy, or a bit out of touch. Either way its a matter of principle, You shouldn't have to turn the in-game music down because it rubbish - audio is as big as graphics in games now.

For instance, some of the music they play on Soccer AM and MOTD when they show highlights wouldn't go amiss. I'm sure it wouldn't cost too much to get a couple of bands/artists on board (like Gran Turismo did with feeder and ash). I mean when Queen did the intro music for PES2 i thought things were about to change...

On the X-Box version u will probably have the choice to hav custom soundtracks on the game anyway. *Custom Soundracks are when u copy music files from CD to XBX and transfer them on to the game.

The Pro evo music really doesn't bother me, because I can just pop on some decent rock music...but your right Bolder, they should consider putting proper music in the background...I remember Fifa 2002 having a Gorillaz song as there intro ;) shame they could never get people any further than that before switching off there PS2 ;)

I enjoyed the Pro Evolution Soccer 1 music was the best. If they restore that music in the patches, i'll be happy :)

A lot of people who have been playing WE/PES for years have been inserting there own tunes for replays etc for ages. All good patches have a nice selection of music and if you know what you're doing it's nor difficult to change it to personal taste.

I always get the feeling that Konami are trying to please everyone with their music in WE/PES. It's just middle of the road crap that no-one wants to listen to.

They couldn't have chosen a worse piece of music to have for edit mode in PES3. Just a really annoying constant loop - not ideal when you want to spend a few hours worth of editing.

Like has been said, hopefully the custom soundtrack function will be enabled on the xbox version.

But Konami really need to be looking into getting some decent stuff, for the next installment.

I switched the music off on my game, just listen to music I put on myself, I don't think of it as a great hardship.

I agree!Come on guys you are speaking as if all the game aspects are perfect and only the music is bad..I think we(and moreover Konami) must concentrate on things like gameplay, editing, licenses etc and last come up with proper music.. Besides its not a big deal to turn off the music and listen to your favourites songs!

Three things, firstly, not everyone has the capiabilty of listening to Cd's alongside their PS2, some people use their PS2 for Cd's aswell. Secondly, I do agree it is a small matter, BUT, we are talking about the game being perfect. Its not like Konami can't do it, they just haven't yet. People moan about the commentary but for me, music is important aswell,. Queen- we are the champions music was brilliant and they should have followed suit instead of obviously taking a step back. And the third point, some dude coming on here calling me lazy, my job is to play football, i gave up working in a gym to play football, I GUARENTEE i am in better shape than he, i just believe that music is a big part of gaming now, its just i found myself putting on music over editing alot and i thought others may have been in the same boat.

One other thing, that factor of the X-Box (allowing your own playlists) is very good, and i am getting more and more convinced in purchasing this console.

i don't play for anyone dude, i work playing football, in the way i teach kids to play football, like lil kids (aged 5-16) I have had a few offers from a few like very low league clubs to play for money (like lower than conference), but work commitments currently have made it more difficult as i work both saturdays and sundays.

There have been a few threads about this... What I tend to do is turn the sound off and put one of my own cd's on if I'm gonna have a massive editing session.

A good alternative would be to do the up-coming bands with different genres. Good idea that...

As I play PC only, for me would be excelent to be able to add unlimited amount of my own mp3s. I'm more of a classic rock guy and it's great to have some led Zepp, Ten Yers After, Cream rocking along your favourite football game. This is one of the rare advantages that fifa has over pes/we series. Tough luck for console players though.
