Promising player points - cheat or bug?

My friend found this "bug" or cheat.. anyone else tried it?

When your promising player has 10 points or more to spend, go to the skill 'Consistency' and push the left analogue stick diagonally downwards/right. Then you get one consistency point (which costs 10) for 1 point. Then use the arrow button to adjust the consistency down one point again. Then you get 10 points back. Do this a 100 times and you will have 1000 points to spend or whatever..

What do you guys (and gays) think?

Just take it down one point again. You "pay" 1 point for a 10-point worth of 'Consistency', then you adjust down consistency again and get 10 points back. In this way you can build any promising player to the max. Of course, you're only cheating yourself, and you could also do it through 'Edit player', so there's no point doing it... I just think it's a strange feature.
