I think people who unfortunately still have to play the game we all love (Who haven't had the luxury of playing the next gen version.......diving etc) on PS2 format have been very harshly done to this year...........Correct me if i am wrong but the PS2 version of PES 2009 isn't being released until 31/10/08.............WHY???

They haven't even confirmed the picture/title on the box.

Will the PS2 version still be sponsored by UEFA Champions League and have this feature??

I speak for all the ppl who still have a PS2.............WHAT IS GOING ON???

Can anyone help/advise me please?

A concerned PES fan

just get a PS3 and every thing will be sweet, not many companies are making good games on ps2 anymore because its old now and more and more people and playing next gen so it makes sence really, the release date at game.co.uk is 31/10/08

I'm starting to think about upgrading!!! PS3 or XBOX ??? (£300 vs £130) Is there really that much difference between the way PES plays on them?? I am and always have been a Playstation fan but the price of PS3 is stupidly high for someone that has twin girls due in jan!!! Plus, the only game that has ever been in my PS2 is the PES series. I don't fancy pulling all that money out for a console for one game. Granted, i do play on it every day but will be happy with an XBOX if it plays just as well!!!

Your thoughts please???

if ur okay with playing it on a 360 pad.. then go for the 360 for sure.. but the ps3 comes with blu ray .. so it could be value for money

I think there's a price drop planned for the PS3 (don't quote me on that) but a 360 is just as good (even better online). I prefer the PS3 though because I'm used to the controls.

What spec of PC are you using on here? The PES2009 demo gamplay runs like silk on my 2 year old laptop at 720p and the game is only £19.99. Plus you can either use a X360 and PS2 controller with it although you will need an adapter for the ps2 controller.

get yourself a xbox360 cheaper, better looking, better online experience by far... no blu ray but there isn't even a big difference between dvd and bluray.

Get yourself a 360, I did and I I've been a playstation boy since i was a kid and i thort the natural progression would be a Playstation3 but i bought a 360 as it was cheaper and its sad to say but I love it :D

Bluray is not worth £170 more FTW

Although I played all PES and ISS on PS2 (except ISS Pro Evolution on PC through a PSX emulator), I've now changed to pc...

PES on PS2 is completely stagnant... PES 2008 on PS2 was completely different from anywhere else.. just a remake of WEPES....

Where did you hear about a price drop for the PS3?

I agree with both leemckinnell and Bite.Me, the PS2 users have been left behind for the last 2 years.

PES 2008 on the PS2 last year was obviously a re-hash of the PS3/Xbox 360 version of PES 2008 minus the diving etc.

I think that we shouldn't expect anything better this year for the PS2 version of PES 2009. It'll be the same as PES 2008 but with updated squads and transfers.

I have thought about changing to the use of my PC for PES2009 but i have heard that it is diffiult to get hold of an adapter (USB) enabling the use of Playstation controller that is Vista compatible?

Any suggestions/tips lads?
