PS2 wont play DVD's?

Can anyone help me or give me any suggestions.

Iv had my PS2 Slimline for about 1 year, and it struggles to play DVD's.

Well the only reason im writing this is because i bought the PES6 guide yesterday and the DVD what comes it with wont play on my PS2, it just says 'Unable To Read Disc'.

It plays games fine, no problem there, does anyone know what i can do to sort it out?

Do other Dvds work fine on it or is it just the one with the pes6 mag?

Not really no, it skips a bit of the film, like it stops then starts but it actually loads at the start, but it does this when im watchin the film.

But with the DVD from the mag its not starting at all, it just says 'Unable To Read Disc'.

But the PES6 DVD does work because i was watching it on my PC.

odd, normally the ps2 disc reader, if it packs up doesnt read any dvds at all, so only ps1 games work

Do you think the lens might need cleaning?

Its also taken a few knocks in its time, and been droped like once lol so im wondering if thats fucked anything up?

yea, the lense might need cleaning, or you can get the lense replaced for about 20quid.
I`ve had mine for about 3 years, never been knocked and still works perfect
