PS3 Display Help!

My PS3 is only about 2 months old and has been running fine until about a week ago.

It has now started to flicker when playing PES2009 in particular. The screen will flicker to a dark mist, darkening everything on the screen. If i exit into the PS3 menu it is still dark and hazy. I know the settings are all fine as they haven't been changed since i set up the PS3 2 months ago. I use the AV (white, red, yello) cables.

Anyone got any ideas? I do have 2 scarts connections on the TV, Sky+ in AV1 and PS3 in AV2. I've been told that if the Sky+ is recording something it could cause the PS3 to flicker as it is a kind of build in thing in the PS3 to detect if something's recording the TV to stop piracy of blu-ray films.

However, I'm just playing a game. I have only noticed it when the Sky+ has been recording at the moment, but don't know if that's coincedence or not!?

I have this problem too. Sometimes the screen will go blue on one side and green on the other. I chalked it down to the following:

1. Too much time played PES
2. More seriously, too much pressure on the TV (it's an old one)
3. Tubes may be going
4. I will be buying a HD TV after Christmas and the old TV is distressed over this
