PS3 Install Option

I noticed there's an option to install the game data to the HD, I usually do this if it offers good benefits (considerable faster loading time, better frame rate, etc). My questions are this.. One, how much space does it take up. Two, any noticeable benefits?

the latest DLC includes
benefits: updated rosters, roster transfers, boots
negatives: loss of some players, messing up an edt file if you

very low memory

Not referring to the DLC, I have the DLC. But if you go into the options menu, system options, you can "install" the game..Like some RPGs and FPS do.

If an option is available to install the game, I would recomend you do it. Although I would be guessing as to what it will effect other than the loading times.

What my mates do on their PS3 - I have one freind still running the 60GB original release day - is they get an external hard drive to save anything non game releated; films, music etc. This xHD hooks up using the USB port.

I'll install it and let ya know how much space it takes up. HD space isn't an issue, I had an 80GB (4USB, not the newer crappy 80gb) but upgraded my HD when circuit city was going out of business.

I dont think it works like that on PS3 - i think its just to stop the machine reading the disc so often.

I know on the x-box my cousins copy of World at war got scratched so as it couldnt be read. He was able to install my version and play the game using his old disc, it wouldnt run without a disc in the drive.

Yeah, you still need the disc. How the installs on PS3 work is it copies the most oftenly used/biggest game data to the HD so that it reads the disc less often (or just has to read less from the disc) so that it increases loading times (and often times framerate, draw distances, etc). I plan to install it today, will let yall know the space it takes up but it may be a few days before I get to play to see the advantages it gives.

EDIT: 3.2GB
