PS3 Jailbreak - what do you think?

Hi,

so the PS3 has been hacked. What do you guys think? Will we see some closer to PC Version Mods for PES on the PS3 in the near future (like we had on modded PS2)?

Their isn't much that anybody knows at this point.And after some tests not all games have worked thus far.Like Modern Warfare 2 doesn't work with this version of Jailbreak.So it'll be awhile till ppl know how to use it and if sony doesn't figure out how to block it

If jailbreak does take off the editing PES "could" put it alongside PC. Kits, balls, gloves, boots all graphic aspects could be edited. Spent many an hour editing and patching WE9 to death!! In an ideal world you would copy the game to an external hard drive, open the files and edit with with GGS then upload back to PS3, whether this will be possible not sure yet. Watch this space.

well, i think there is a lot of potential.

the ftp server can be a first step. i think as the ftp server gives access to the ps3 hdd including save games, game files etc., this should make copying the patch files over to the console much easier. no more copying 150 faces one by one through xmb, but rather one simple batch via ftp.

ncwrrn you are a million miles off dude,go check moddingway, basically with ps3 jailbreak u could backup pes to ur external,edit the files in ggs like done on 360 patches,then once done editing overwrite the edited imgs in the ripped folder,exactly how its done on jtag for 360 and the ps3 will boot the custom files as its thinks the disc is being booted from drive,plus no space limitations in the ps3 imgs

Really tempted to try this out, just struggling with the outlay at the moment, 2 kids n a wife seriously drain the bank account!!

Ok, as there is a version of pes 2011 out in the wild, i checked it out and in terms of editing, it looks pretty good (i assume). I was able to open all the img files in GGS and work with it.

I think we will see pc style patches on the ps3 this year.

dude i know i was just saying what it was mainly being used for
but its been fixed so you cant do it if your ps3 is up to date (updates)

come on guys. i do not think anyone here on this forum is not gonna buy one version of PES 2011 when it is released. People on here are to dedicated to the franchise as not to buy PES.

but i think its completely ok if there is a version online to check it out for educational purposes (which i mean both technical in terms of to see how patchaable it is what i did, but also to allready be able to play the game).
