Putting a patch onto a memory card

Hey people, dont want to sound like a technophobe and its probably already been discussed, but is there anyway to put an option file that has been patched onto a memory card, so it can be 'distributed' and therefore no further need to flash you console etc.

Or is the whole idea of a patch that you need to do all this extra stuff to make it work correctly?

well sort of, they saved me a few quid and i could take my son out to macdonalds,

but later i had to pay for a prescription cos i caught crabs from them, but never mind cos the burger was nice!
