Hi there, sorry for an obvious question but am relatively new to online PES:

Are Europeans and Americans able to play against each other even if they have different regioned copys of the game?

Not quite sure why this is so on the PS3 though. I was led to believe that PS3 games were region free?!

DOesn't that mean, the PS3 version at least, should allow for a 'true' global online gaming mode allowing to play people from any country as (theoretically) everyon will have the same game, just different language packs?

Yes, all PS3 games are region free. Some company/developer may decide to have region lock for online gaming. On the top of my mind, Metal Gear Online & Army of Two have region lock when in comes to playing online.
