Repeated crashing - please help

PES3 is driving me mad! It loads fine most of the time, though sometimes it does come up in processes as PES3 running but the computer and DVD drive has frozen. However in the team editor it crashes all the time - and I mean really crashes! it puts my machine back to boot up as if the power has been turned off. This is really annoying as every time I have to reboot and run scan disk (which reports no errors).

Also the screen in the game has horizontal lines scrolling across it occasionally which is really annoying.

Can anyone help - the computer is brand new - Windows XP Athlon 64, Radeon 128MB 9800 Pro. I have no other problems in Call of Duty or other games, so I do not think it is my machine. I have the second patch (only) installed.

If I e-mail Konami do they sometimes help?

A good thing to do is check what is running in the background before you run PES3.... Close as many things as you can such as unneccesary task bar tray items and disable your virus checker because it sometimes can cause problems with games.. Mine crashes NHL 2003 if it is running with the virus checker...
