Luck play a big part. You have to save with triangle/Y and direction. Or triangle/Y and down+direction (lafet or right) for low penalties. It's all about guessing which way.

You may try this hint, when the AI com kick the the ball and you see the ball flying out you may press start or pause the game, then you can see what is the ball direction. If you see the AI kick the ball to the middle, your keeper just stand there and do nothing the keeper will able to save that penalty. But if the AI Kick the ball to left or right...umm... keeper can't do anything even you still can see the ball direction while you pause the game....cause it was too late to respond......hopefully this will help you ........

even when u do save pens its normally with the legs and the player ends up tappin it in

It's not saving penalties I have a problem with - I don't give many away - it's scoring them. I get tons of penalties, due to my using the shot feint, and unless I got in the middle, I would say I am 75% likely not to score. It's nearly always wide, or occasionally saved.

I've noticed that, during a match, first penalty in the match, the CPU always goes to the keeper's bottom-right, whether it's taking or facing a penalty. So, if the penalty coming up is the first penalty in the game:

- When taking a penalty, shoot to the left of the keeper (your right).
- When facing a penalty, dive to the bottom-right corner of the keeper (your bottom-left).

This works too often, but not always.
