Sharing PS4 OF's using "public" PSN accounts.

Hi guys, I've found a workaround. It's limited and is probably only good for offline modes if you don't care about trophies, but here goes.

First, the editor creates a PSN account using a disposable email (www.guerrillamail.com or similar) and uses that account on a new user in his PS4. He then does all the editing on that users save, copies it and uploads it. He then shares the sign in information for that account so that people can make new users on their PS4s using that same PSN account and you will be able to use the edit data since it's the same account.

I've managed to share an edit file with a friend using this method for an offline tournament with custom teams.

The idea behind using a disposable email address is that anyone can have access and even if some random douchebag changes the password, anyone can change it back since access to the email's inbox is public.

Only thing is we're relying on the editors to remake their files under a new account/user.

One very important thing is that once you set up the account on your PS4 you must sign out of PSN and disable automatic sign in because everytime an accounts signs into one PS4 all other PS4's using the same account will be logged out. Also, do not activate PS4 as primary.

Your main issue here is trusting people. Not everyone is a dick but it only takes one to ruin this, let alone a handful.

Surely someone could easily take control of the email account, lock everyone else out and find a means of selling the work as their own? Please correct me if I'm wrong. There are just some highly suspect individuals on this site alone.

That's the whole point of using a disposable email. You don't need a password to access it. So if someone changes the password of the PSN account you can change it right back since anyone can access the inbox for the email address.

One thing I forgot about guerillamail is that you have to uncheck the scramble address box for this to work properly.

www.mailinator.com is another provider of disposable emails.

Yes but then....how long would it take me (in theory) to come along and change the email address that the PSN account is tied to?

Damn. I forgot you could change the email address. So much for that I guess. :/

EDIT: I solved it! You don't create a full account. The editor has a private account and that will be the master account, then the account used to share the OF will be a subaccount of that one. So if someone tries to hijack the account by changing the ID. The editor is able to go onto http://account.sonyenterntainmentnetwork.com/ and see the new ID and change the password from the master account.

EDIT2: Wtf how did an edit end up as a double post, sorry about that.

Excellent, was just making sure you'd thought of everything.

I've deleted the other post as well.
