Just wanted to do a poll about SONY PS2. I had an N64 when they first came out and i have the same console and pads now still in working order.
My PS2 pads though, have been dodgy, the N64 pads had an analogue stick that took time to stop working, mine are now quite wobbly. My PS2 pads on the other hand, at £20, cost too much for the time they last. i must have had at least 6 pads (thats just replacing MY broken pads), my brother has had 3 but thats because he moved out.
Now my console is knackering up, and this thing cost £200, plus the games plus memor cards which are £30. And its not just the PS2 either, its things such as buttons on Hi-Fi's breaking, dodgy video recorders that dont record with any known quality, even from digital.

I blue myself
Well i agree about Sony being dodgy is general. I've had four PS2 is as as many years due to them crapping up with DRE's and other things.

But pad wise i've only ever had 2. My new one came with the replacement console i just got so i had to give my old one back. That pissed me off big time, i never had trouble with it. It served me perfectly for 4-5 years.

A mans controller is like a sofa, you work a groove into it. When i gave it back i nearly cried.

Sony are great. I have a TV, DVD player and both playstations and never has any trouble.

had my console and pad since the day of release. its stopped playing cd games now, but the dvd games still work no problem. pad is suffering a bit but still in perfect working order.

I have also never had any problems with any Sony product. The worst case for me has been one of my ps2 controllers becoming a bit battered, but that's more to do with the abuse it usually took when one of my mates had scored on Pro Evo 3 ;)

do you feel like your connected to youyr pad, i literally can not use a different pad other than mine when it comes to playing PES4. i still have the original one that came with the console, but it bought 2 new pads to partner him in attack.

my PS2 has been fine its the bloody controls that are not....with the having a trusting relationship with a pad thing is unfortunate for me as i keep getting my heart broken ;)
i have got about 5 pads now..and only 1 of them is in perfect condition..the others usually get on the wrong end of my anger alot of the time...i got a new control for Christmas it was working fine until this morning when i started to get stressed with my PS2...and continuously started laying into it with my fists...and then stamped on the little shit!! - it still works but when the analog stick shakes theres a lot of rattling and it doesnt seem to shake correctly now in the left stick..damn Sony must have sold me a flimsy pad ;)
its that new control i tell you..its cursed i want my original back....im going to go and make a desperate attempt to try and recooperate my original... my favourtie pad...

Ive had about 5 ps2's and an endless amount of controllers. I buy refurbished ps2s now so when they crap out on me I'm not out so much money.

I still have my first PS2 and it's working ok. The only problem is that PES somehow doesn't work when my PS2 is standing upright. I'm currently using my fourth controler, unbelievable since I don't throw them around or anything.

I'm on my second PS2, and i had to buy 2 PSOnes as well. Ive replaced 2 pads so far, which seem to wear out a bit too quickly for my liking. Generally, Sony products are very well made and reliable, but i think the PS2 breaks that trend.
