You're probably putting too much power on your shots. You don't need to hold the shoot button for very long.

What type of players are you shooting with? Good players or rubbish players?

Good, The likes of Suarez, Carroll and Kuyt
All with stats from PSD so there shooting is realistic values :/

Overall its a good game, but the thing is the game is very free in what you do, just the shooting seems to manual.

The shooting is fine. I score long rangers as in past games may be not at the same frequency but its realistic and for me long rangers aare from 25+ m not at the edge of the penalty area.

It will take some getting used to, only thing i hate is that unlike FIFA there is no finess button, its a shot the computer has to decide for you

You're gonna hate me for this but i find 1vs1's easier on this game than on any other.

What you have to do is make sure your player is facing the goal directly, dont shoot off an angle. Just tap square and the computer does the rest. I scored with Castolo a heck of a lot with this technique.

If your going straight at the goalie, as in running straight at them, not from the side of the box, then treat it like a penalty. Tap square, then push the analogue stick far right or far left. However, this depends on your striker. The lower their shooting accuracy stat, the less you must push the analogue stick left as it goes out of 'goal range' very quickly. However high accuracy stat shooters will often have a very small threshold for going wide one on ones, so you can push your analogue stick to far left or far right as powerful as you want. Hope thats clear. Comes with experience and being unproductive!

I think I struggle so much as I play FIFA a hell of a lot. And on that the power requires alot more and the direction is pretty much done for you :p

Do you mean holding to the side the analog stick for less time or pushing it to sides halfway? Basically, is it like penalty?

With one on ones, pressing the R2 button (or RT if you're on xbox) immediately after you let go of shoot, will make the player place the ball..... doesn't always work mind.

Some tips I posted in another thread.

Some tips for shooting...

- Power bar is dependent on the situation, eg if the ball is close to the body you will need to generate more power.

- body position is crucial, you can place a shot just by angling your player and approaching the ball a certain way without using any of the modifier buttons

- RT placed shot is good for certain situations.

- You can also do a shot with more precision and a slower trajectory if you hold the close control button(RT) during and after your shot, this is slightly different to the RT placed shot. Holding RT in this way slows your players momentum and allows you to be more precise with a shot, I find using this method allows me to pick an angle as the ball is under close control thus allowing a slower and more placed trajectory if that makes sense.

S-D-P seems to have nailed it down, I do more or less like him. But I too have problems with 1 on 1's. I've found two working solutions, one is feinting away from the chasing defender, to one side and scorch it into the closest corner. The other is rounding the keeper with a shot feint or a shoulder feint.

Placed shots seem to miss too regularly, but with practice you can learn to put it "under" the goalkeeper if you time the shot to exactly when he dives. I do this too quite often, but never on purpose :)

Wheni have the ball and run towards the goal i often do a fake shot. This seems to hold back the defensive line and gives you the time to do a good shot from outside without having the defenders to charge out on you.

Try it out for me it makes a difference.

It's easy.

First, if you are close to the opponent's goal, I prefer you to shoot with :square: + slow power + direction with opposite direction. The shot will become more slower and sometimes higher if you make first touch shot.

Example: If your opponent's goal at left, you shoot with up + right.

Second, you shoot with :square: + direction with opponent's goal direction. You can use this shot type if you want to shoot outside from the opponent's penalty box. This shoot type will have more power and more straight.Just use half of the power or it will become wide and so high.

Example: If your opponent's goal at left, you shoot with up + left.

It is, when you are gash at the game!!!!

Shooting is great in this pes once you get your head around it but there"s too many ridiculous misses that happen.
For blaster's i press the opposite direction when striking the ball , it seems to keep it lower with more power .Also pressing buttons when your striking theball like you do when you take a freekick like triangle for power or x for slower shots seem to work.Maybe they don't but it's just a habbit of mine. One on One i nearly always use the finnese shot and aim the corner i want it to go.
It's all about your body position when you are shooting .Alot of people make the mistake of always pressing forward when shooting resulting in hoofing it over same with corners people overshoot them by pressing cross then the direction they are kicking it when it's best to press the oppsosite direction..
You guy's might not agree with my ways but it gets the job done.

when you shoot, quicky press r2 and use the rigtht stick to direct the goal to a bottom corner. This normally works when you got a right foot on a more left side or vice versa
