Hi guys, just ploughing through BAL pretty much since I got the game. However I'm having trouble working out exactly how the computer decides where I want to shoot. Sometimes I'm putting the ball miles wide, sometimes its going into the corners and sometimes straight down the middle. Am I supposed to be changing the direction of the d-pad whilst I fill up the power bar or after, but before my player makes contact with the ball?

I'm just a bit frustrated cause I'm missing a decent amount of 1-on-1 chances. Any help would be appreciated.

when you face 1-on-1 situation, move the directional like this:
if you are in the middle in front of keeper- move stick/pad to the side of your stronger foot.
if you are right footed coming from right to left- shoot to the far post, by pressing that direction.
if you are right footed coming from left to right- shoot to the far post, and while the power gauge is on press :R2:, also pressing the direction of kick.
if you are left footed- do all of the above opposite.

the further you shoot from, the less effect the directional buttons have.

^Excactly what I do. I score many goals by coming from the left side, turn 45 degrees and shoot with my stronger foot (right). I score loads of folas like that.

Do you actually have to aim the shot? Because every shot that I seem to have is right at the goal keeper. Sometimes I'll get lucky and it will go right into the corner.

if you dont aim its pure luck. if you aim you have 90% that it will go to the exact dircetion that you pressed.

One more question regarding this kinda subject, does anyone know how to aim for the near post? Like when it just squeezes past the goalkeeper while he gets a hand to it but it still goes over the line. I thought this was a nice little addition to the series but can only seem to do it by accident.
