Konami, it would make a great deal of difference for the better, if the video game offered MANUAL and SEMI-AUTOMATIC controls simultaneously. This would be easily possible if we could tweak the individual settings for each player, in terms of off the ball movement.
For example, Xavi Hernandez could be set on MANUAL OFF THE BALL MOVEMENT, therefore when you select Xavi with the R3 button, you have complete control over his movement; on the other hand, David Villa could be set on SEMI-AUTOMATIC OFF THE BALL MOVEMENT, meaning that when you select Villa with the R3 button, Villa would automatically run forwards into goal.
By implementing such a simple detail, the video game would effectively offer MANUAL and SEMI-AUTOMATIC controls simultaneously, which would create possibilities that would be impossible if the game can only offer either MANUAL or SEMI-AUTOMATIC settings.
The video game would offer the intricacy of having full control over the selected target, but at the same time would also offer a more responsive control for the more direct runs. This could be possible, if the video game offers the option of tweaking the individual settings of each player.
For example, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta could have MANUAL OFF THE BALL MOVEMENT, and Lio Messi and David Villa could have SEMI-AUTOMATIC OFF THE BALL MOVEMENT. I feel it is a simple detail that would make a massive difference for the better, because it would mix an intricate yet unresponsive control with a simplistic yet responsive control.
At the moment, it is clear that MANUAL OFF THE BALL MOVEMENT is a very cool feature, but it is a very unresponsive feature, if MANUAL OFF THE BALL MOVEMENT and SEMI-AUTOMATIC OFF THE BALL MOVEMENT can be used simultaneously, it would offer the perfect balance between intricacy and responsiveness.
