sly close range free kick

hey this is a little trick that i learned recently. with players of high free kick accuracy (ie beckham, rivaldo etc) or even just above average you can score from close rancge by simply lobbing the wall. From between 18 and 21 metres our aim over the wall and to the opposite side of the goalkeeper and simply tap :circle: . well actually more than a tap take it up about a third of the half way barrier on the scale and HEY PRESTO. 9 times out of ten it sails in and often rather sweetly off the post.

Give it a blast and lemme know how u get on!

Thanks for the tip fella. I'll give it a try.

also, for 'edge of the box blade of grass from a peno' situations, try holding down and left or right (whichever is curling away from the keeper, and press :circle: all the way. it should go under the wall and neatly in the corner.

yeah, it does a similar thing to the one i said. i think yours is better for about 20m out, central sorta area zyg.

mine is better from 18m, at an angle to the goal. its good to have lots of options with free kicks to trick your mates ;) although all these types of free kicks are hard to score against the cpu.

I score free kicks by shooting around the wall and aiming for the close corner.
Didn't really understand your method of kicking, Zygalski, if you please care to elaborate.

begz I tried your sly kick more than 40 times last night and I didn't score a single one. It either went sideways or the goalie got it.

yea they worked better on PES2 that one ash. they seemed to have slow down the :circle: button actins when holding up or down.

For free kicks close to the area, hold the UP direction and then tap the shoot button to add the smallest amount of power you can. The wall should jump and the shot should go under the wall and into the goal, depending on your aim and curl.

"Hold up and tap the shoot button. Sometimes creeps under the wall, sometimes through it."

In training, quite often a team-mate runs into and then through the wall - creating space to blast a low shot like you describe.

Does anyone know how to properly control the movement of other players while a free-kick is being lined up?

(It would also help from long range to have players in the box, getting in the keeper's way.)

Dunno, might have to be trained in training.

When I get auch a close range free kick, lobbing is difficult.

I'll go for what Zyg mentioned, shooting under or thru the jumping wall.

i use quite a few techniques for takin my free kicks depending on the distance of it and the angle.

If it's near and there's space in the goal, just blast in the shot.

Like Carlos did against Malaga recently, thanks to a gap in the wall.
