Interesting. Maybe this will be the slap in the face that Konami need. "Not only are you getting your ass handed to you by EA and FIFA, now Ubisoft is handling up on you!"

I should think it will take Ubisoft a while to make a game anywhere near up to scratch! But lets be honest it may be a breath of fresh air to have something a little different!

Cool but I think many will be disappointed it's Ubisoft. They make some great games but have zero sports experience. This has fail written all over it.

This doesnt mean anything! There were other companies in the past that made footie games and they were all crap for the most part. Plus, Im sure they wont have any real teams or names just like Konami was in the beginning. The company I wish would throw their hat into the soccer game arena is 2KSports. Theyre basketball franchise is pure class as was their Football(American) before they lost their license to make NFL games.

If they have really talked to Gerrard then this game will be the best after 1 attempt. Im not a massive fan of ubisoft. If 2k joined in and we had 4 footy games then i would poop my panties.

What sports games have they made in the past?

A third game will be great. If done correctly that is. It'll bring more competition and more competition means better games released.:)
Ubisoft are awesome after they released assassins creed but as someone else said, they don't have sport's games experience. But that doesn't mean that they can't do a good football sim. We'll have to wait and find out I guess.:)

Nice, I really hope they have something... I dont care about real names and clubs. All I want is a game that you actually can play football with.

I do think this is good news indeed. Fingers crossed that Ubisoft delivers! =D

I'm getting tired of the stale progress in both PES and FIFA. Let's hope this will wake them up a bit :/

I think this game should be perfect because they had the time to see all the negative things from both games(FIFA&PES) and hopefully they won't make them in their own game! Just wait :p

I"ll Stick With PES

LOL, so you'll play whatever crap is thrown your way as long as it has the suffix "PES" or "Pro Evolution" in other words? :)

Such a brilliant way to point out your "biased-ness"

I hope Ubisoft either try to make a really realistic footy sim, or a pure arcade game. In between like PES and FIFA is just pathetic.

a third way, but hard to pull off, exaggarated realism would probably be the best option, rather realistic moves and shots but a few notches more effective AI strikers, so AI is able to score more than once or twice per season. Caricature graphics would be so cool too, alot of the trouble with licenses would be much easier to work around then. Let the overhead kicks and scissor kicks be a common feature in such a game.

The funny thing is a lot of people would describe the latest PES game just that. A reason why it's stuck in between simulation and arcade.

As for the rest of you who are all losing their f*cking minds over the fact it's Ubisoft instead of 2K making this title, let me ask you this: Has 2K ever done a soccer game before? Having sports experience in general is irrelavent in all honesty.

Also, Ubisoft already released a soccer game on the DS that had the FIFApro license so I think it's safe to assume their game will have real players and fake team names at the very least.

That may be true, but to my experience the AI don't do many overhead kicks, they don't score many screamers from distance, hell they don't even shoot directly (first time shots or what it's called) most of the time. I would say PES comes in the "inaggerated realism" category with this years installment. The only thing that's exaggarated in PES2010 is the amount of diving headers, even when using the feet would be the obvious best choice.

One of the biggest gripes with BAL for example, is that the team your player is at score fewer goals than other teams around their league position, but also concede less goals. The balance between goals in simulated results and the matches you actually play is too big.

If you play AI vs AI (spectator mode) you will notice that Brazil will struggle to get a 1-0 victory over Honduras or Quatar with defualt database (unedited stats). Most games end 0-0 wich strengthen my opinion that PES 2010 is an inaggerated footy game rather than exaggarated.
