I've gotten the option file with the world cup rosters and MLS teams....Is it possible to assign players to rosters from other teams, for example if I wanted Messi, Henry, Ronaldo, etc. on MLS teams can this be done?

Then start a league?

You can go to Edit Mode- Teams-Register Player (select the team you want to assign a player too then click add, then serach for the team/ country the player play for and click them.

Eg Di Maria to Real Madrid- Edit Mode- Teams- Registered Player- Real Madrid- Add- Benfica- Di Maria- select.

how would I go about starting an MLS league...I have downloaded the patch with the teams/World Cup Teams, then I was going to reassign all the rosters...

But how do you go about starting a league or something to simulated the UEFA league

I'm not sure- I don't download option files.

Are they in League B in Edit Mode if so:
Go to Master League- Select a team in the 'other' category that you want to play as eg LA Galaxy- select them- select the league you want them to go into- it really doesn't matter as you can change it, the questions will come up, customise league structure- so if you chose english league you can go through all the origional teams eg Man Utd and press X or Square and swap them with all the MLS teams in D2 which you will have to press a or x on a origional D2 team and select the MLS teams in the 'other' category.
So you swap the origional D2 teams with the MLS teams, then press x or square and swap them with the teams in the English League, then when all of them or swaped you go back to were it asks you about the structure then click ok or something and it will ask you the league you want to play in again and select the league you edited the MLS teams to. That's the only way, i think, you can play in the Champion League.

Sorry for sounding complicated.
