Hi guys I'm pretty sure this is the right thread to post this, if not I apologise and please move this to another thread. But I want your opinions on the dive. Let's face it the dive is a big part of our modern game, in fact some people out there might say that World Cup Germany was shaped by the dive.. Italy won the cup from some high degree of difficulty artistic dives that might even make a splash in the world diving championships. I'm not bagging the Italians, actually far from it. I think good on them if that makes the cup theirs!!
Ok that brings me to my point. In Winning Eleven, obviously everyone here knows that the players fall involuntarily from contact with a defender, most times a foul is called, sometimes they're called to play on. Fair enough, this part of the game is great and should be left unchanged (Especially in WE10 as it has been tweaked from it's predecessor which some of us thinks doesn't give us a free flowing game). But picture yourself with C. Ronaldo running down the right sideline, and Roberto Carlos hot on his heel and has just caught up trying to get the ball with a body check, and then he knocks out the balance of Ronaldo without him falling over, slows him down enough and takes the ball.. I can just see at that point of contact, some players would actually deliberately dive to try and win the free kick, and sometimes they will get it. So what I'm saying is, give us a dive option in the game!! It's supposed to be the best soccer simulation out there, and I love the game myself! But it might even get a bit more realistic if there is an option to dive. Now the game would go on as usual, players would fall normally without the dive command being pressed. But at times a dive can make or break a game, and it might be an idea for Konami to think outside the square. Afterall a dive can get you a yellow card if the ref thinks you're faking it, the ref would also be playing on if he doesn't think there's much in it.. So the Dive command will be designed to be used with discretion, and you might not like it when players dive on the field. But it's a big part of our game and I think it's about time that we have an option to dive if it's called for.
